Well, I feel like a boomer today. Using a small boar brush and purposefully making a dry lather. I’m back home with soft water so that probably had more to do with it than anything, but the soap did much better than yesterday. I’d like to say that keeping it slightly dry might have helped, but more science is needed to come to a final verdict.
Yesterday I was somewhere with hard water, and the lather wasn’t very slick. I hypothesized that I had added too much water. Today I’m somewhere with soft water, so the only testing I can do is to see if this soap works well when made slightly pasty. Now that I know it does work when pasty, the next time I’m somewhere with hard water, I can continue my test.
… assuming I pack the same soap next time. Not likely!
That’s smart. Whenever I go somewhere that has a different water type than what I’m used to it always throws me off a little and takes some time to adjust.

What’s your reason for purposefully making a dry lather?
