Anyone else have trouble with these GE dishwashing machines?

Mine cleans dishes well enough, but the gaskets leak easier than any other dishwasher I’ve ever had. I replaced the gaskets a few months ago, but if a little bit of debris builds up then it’s leaking again. Also, the racks are badly corroded, but the machine is only maybe five years old. Anyway, it’s just kind of funny that my aunt is coming over tomorrow and the last time she was here she noticed the dishwasher was leaking.

Installed appliances for a few years out of high school. GE is right up there with Electrolux as the worst of the worst.

GE was acquired by Chinese company “Haier Group” and is still “made in America”. Electrolux is made in Finland and has brands such as fridgidair.

Both are cheap and made to be disposable, on some of the Electrolux units, the drain hose was directly attached and I had every single one split apart when they were installed in a new development.

My opinion, Bosch, Whirlpool, and Miele are the best dishwashers in the industry.

I always had good luck with kenmore fridges and dishwashers, but they use other manufacturers including whirlpool, GE, and Frigidair, so YMMV.

My Electrolux dishwasher caught on fire because the plastic covering broke twice even after we replaced it, causing water to leak inside and short circuit the thing.

Ive heard a lot of negativity with regards to GE appliances in general. Specifically their washing machines.

I’ve got one. It hasn’t failed, but it sucks. Runs for hours, but doesn’t clean very well.

I buy the nice dishwasher pods and always run on heavy mode with temperature boost. It gets the dishes clean, but I’m wondering if it’s causing extra wear and tear, especially to the racks.
