And im not just saying it becuase all this has come out. Ive voiced this opinion many times over the years. He gives of creepy vibes.

How the fuck is this “technology”? This community is flying very close to the line of what is in topic most of the time anyway. This by far and away crosses it.

It’s YouTube drama and it doesn’t belong here. I’m not saying it’s not interesting/important but it’s off topic and doesn’t belong here.

On surface level, sure. But the consequences of this drama will be seen across the industry. Google and Amazon both appear to have worked to have kept this quiet, which raises a lot of important questions about how the business of video streaming will handle child safety.

Even though it may seem like drama, there’s an important story here, and it directly involves the futures of some key players in the tech sector so it’s relevant.

The latest bad news for the Doc comes a week after an allegation was first made by a former Twitch employee on X. “He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product,” the tweet said.

Yeah so I get banning him but did anyone over at twitch also think to… I don’t know… contact the FBI? Seems like that should have been the first thing to do, no?

From what I understand, “whispers” were what private messages were called on twitch. And it’s “then existing,” I don’t use twitch, but I guess it doesn’t exist anymore, that’s what they mean. Pretty poor wording though, don’t blame you for not knowing what the hell they mean.

          TL:DW? ACAB

Slightly longer : corpos make money, they dont give a fuck about laws. Cops dont give a fuck about anything.

Longer still : she was stalked/had her face photoshopped onto actual child porn. Gave detailed info about the child porn, including who did it/where they were/etc. Cops did literaly nothing.

basically no company wants the bad PR. If it had come out twitch would be known as the platform with pedos and parents wouldn’t let their kids use it resulting in the platform becoming obsolete.

And now parents can see that twitch is the platform with pedos that chooses to do nothing about it other than hide it from the public. Muuuuuch better look to go full Catholic church than just fess up and take care of the problem.

Haven’t these chucklefucks ever heard that the cover-up is worse than the crime?

He doesn’t affect me at all. I heard of him once about 5 years ago…and then I forgot he existed until this development.

trump doesn’t affect me either…but he’s shoved into my face every minute of every day. And there’s no stopping it. Even if some nutjob killed him, he would STILL be in the news about why he was killed. Nobody talks about Lyndon Johnson, but everybody talks about JFK. Nobody talks about Andrew Johnson, but everybody remembers Lincoln.

Point is, there is no escaping it. At least with dr disrespect, you can just move on from that ONE post, and your day will be free of him for the rest of your day. Not so with trump.

I’m 100% certain that if he actually didn’t know the kid’s age beforehand, that he would have said so in one of his responses. If the situation was anything other than what everybody is already suspecting, he would have put it out there instead of letting the internet speculate wildly. He wouldn’t just be sitting on that little nugget of information if it existed. He was too specific in his responses to have left that out unintentionally.

It’s probably less “wanting to see a sexting thread with a child” and more “curious what this asshole said that was inappropriate.” Not that absurd.

For example, if your coworker got fired for saying something inappropriate, would your first question not be, “what did they say that got them fired?”

Kind of a natural human reaction to be curious.

This, plus just how egregious was it?

No one is wanting to read these messages like they’re 50 Shades of Grey or anything like that. Well, there’s probably somebody but that’s not why most want to see it. Clearly it was not bad enough to get the police involved at the time, so we’re talking less than To Catch A Predator.

Ignoring the age difference for a second, because that part is not relevant to my specific point here… What some people consider flirty, others consider creepy. On a similar note, the same comment coming from a person someone considers attractive and from someone they find ugly often has a completely different reaction.

Doc says that it crossed a line, that’s not under debate by anyone at this point. He says there were no pictures, etc. exchanged, just messages and there was no intent to meet up or anything like that. On the other side one of the original tweets claimed they were sexting. Peoples definitions of sexting can vary dramatically as well.

So clearly the messages went over the line of being inappropriate, no argument there from anyone paying attention, but how far over that line was it? Were they truly explicit messages, or just inappropriate within the context of a 35 year old talking to a minor?

Yeah, and there’s a much different context. Those aren’t real children on the show. Those text threads are with adults on both ends. The entire interaction from start to finish is mitigated by professionals.

We’re talking about a situation involving a real child, not a sting operation where there isn’t an actual victim. There’s a real child whose identity would be put at risk of being exposed by releasing the logs.

This isn’t primetime TV drama. This is a real situation involving a real minor. You should take a step back from the screen for a minute if you’re struggling to see the difference.

It’s significant because it has been otherwise unknown why he was banned off twitch back in 2017 when he was their biggest streamer. Lots and lots of speculations were had and finally the bomb dropped last week as to why
