I think I prefer CGP Grey’s quote: If you can’t break the lock, you break the wall.
According to the biblical canon Lucifer is a fallen angel.
Demons are often seen as different entities, but interpretations differ.
I know. My point was that if there’s alock only angels can open and demons can’t, it’s not as if angels are infallible.
Secure, end to end encryption of messages should be something we’re moving towards making literally mandatory if you offer messaging, not something we’re trying to ban.
Fascism and privacy do not mix.
Never waste a good crisis.
This wouldn’t have even made a difference in the assassination attempt.
These creeps will use any garbage excuse to pry further into our lives.
Exactly. I just watched a video breaking it down, and this happened due to a series of mistakes:
- Secret Service tells police to not climb the roof, but also says the buildings outside the perimeter are their responsibility
- Secret Service doesn’t have a sniper looking at the only building outside the perimeter that is within range
- Police see the suspect twice and relay the suspicious individual to the Secret Service (like an hour before the shooting)
- Spectators see the suspect on the roof and alert police (20-30 min prior)
- An officer climbs to the roof and backs off when the suspect aims the rifle at them (about 30s before the shooting)
There were so many fumbles here, and the shooter didn’t have any special training, that I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner. The Secret Service completely fumbled this one…
Why the duck do i need to download an app for this? Can we stop using the worst version of the Internet?
Here we go. Again.
