Theme Thursday - Discovering the secret scents of Istanbul - 29 May 2025

- Lather: Abbate Y La Mantia – Verbena Toscana
- Post Shave: №4711 – Echt Kölnisch Wasser
- Fragrance: Atelier Rebul – Istanbul
Today’s theme is perfectly fitting for this warm sunny day. Verbena Toscana is bright orange citrus with vervein and an absolute summer favourite of mine. Kölnisch Wasser is at the origins of Kolonya.
AR Istanbul isn’t technically on theme, being a warm spicy scent, but hey, it’s right there in the name.
Interesting that you use 4711 as a post-shave splash.
I bought a bottle recently and have been wondering whether it’d be a better fit as a frag or post. The scent definitely doesn’t last very long.
This one is the splash version of 4711, it last even less long than the cologne :)

This was a very successful test shave of a new Escher edge on this Engels Leader razor. Very close and very comfortable.
Nirvana’s lead note is fig which places me on theme with today’s Theme Thursday on r/Wetshaving.
