    I rescaled this Wade and Butcher earlier today and I’m really happy with how it looks and feels. It’s not that classic smooth black horn look, but I like the bright, sleek Ralf Aust scales I put on it.

    The razor is butter smooth and gave a great shave

    A fine Friday shave with Norwegian Wood. Its better than good.

    I got the chainsaw out today and still have all my fingers and toes. Right now I’m at our son’s daycare which is histing a “trunk-or-treat”. It’s fun!

        After we got home from the daycare event, I re-donned my boots, safety glasses, and earplugs and headed back out. I was piecing up a tree that had already fallen on its own, but it’s on a steep, rocky hill. I planned to go until I ran out of gas, but my final cut of the day proved, once again, that there’s no way to truly predict what will happen.

        My prediction was that the tail end (lowest on the slope) would detach and roll down the hill. I was right, it did that. The rest of the tree, which was all uphill from me (the tree was laying almost straight up the hill), I predicted would shift down and away from me. Instead, it shifted down and towards me. I’m lucky that I wasn’t knocked over (sending me tumbling down a granite slope), or worse.

        Chainsaws don’t scare me and I enjoy doing it, but trees are absolutely out to get me.

          I include that in my chainsaw fear. They are quite nice without trees 😅

    2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

    I haven’t used Bay Rum in quite a while and am a fan of this scent. I can see getting a couple of other takes on this fragrance. Great shave today.

      I like the lighting in that picture! It’s a lot harder to get right with straights than with safety razors, for some reason 😅

        Yes. Definitely. The photo is about chiaroscuro; a fancy term I learned in art school which I attended after my university years in engineering. Aside from learning fancy terms, I learned how to take abuse from (and appreciate the talent of) real artists.

            My wife is an artist. This is the kind of comment that gets me “The Look”. “The Look” speaks volumes but it communicates disdain and exasperation. I get this a lot :)
