There was a sequel to Okami. It wasn’t particularly needed, but it could have been cool.

Instead it shat on the first game’s story, it was barely playable because instead of adapting to the platform (DS) they just hacked maps of the original game into hundreds of tiny bits with load transitions everywhere, and it had the creativity of the worst fan fiction writer ever.

Ohh, i completely forgot that thing exists. I bought used, played for a few hours, got bored, and never touch it again. Somehow the pacing can be worst than Okami, it must be some sort of special ability.

I played it on the 3DS, and for all of the very long life of my console it has kept first place in player log for longest sessions.

Truth is, this was one session, for the full game. I started it not expecting much, Okami is one of of my favourite games ever, and I knew this was not made by the same people, so I expected it to be a bit of derivative fun at least.

It was such a disaster I ended up hate-binging it till the end. Obviously it wasn’t worth it.

I said they need to make a new vs. Capcom fighting game in the style of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (2D, not 3D) with either Nintendo, Square Enix, or Konami characters. I think it would be a big hit!

Konami might be the most fun in terms of matchups.

    • Silent Hill vs. Resident Evil
    • Bomberman vs. Mega Man
    • Etc.
