I’ve only been seriously building my vinyl collection over the past 4-5 months, but a lot is really finding physical versions of albums I’ve had on CD or MP3s. This is one step closer to having all the SC3 vinyls available…
Genrewise, the band is all over the place — this is primarily middle eastern traditionals given a modern spin. They started out as “Mr Bungle without the singer”, but quickly became a project for multi-instrumentalist Trey Spruance to nerd out on his musical idiosyncrasies and esoteric philosophy.
They sound really cool. I’m going to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
Expect a wild mix between the above mentioned middle eastern music, surf rock, spaghetti western scores, Euro pop and the occasional black metal outburst…
Unfortunately they’re niche enough that their later discography has been CD- or even streaming-only. Do check them out on bandcamp, I think that’s the most complete, available way of listening before you dig into physical media.
I thought they released a new album, disappointment ensued.
Everyone should check them out .
This album has my favourite song, vajra.
Sorry to disappoint! Even this LP is 13 years old, but I found a sealed copy on discogs so it’s practically as new as when it was pressed.
There’s been a Holy Vehm album rumoured for years, but at this point I think it will most likely only come out on CD and streaming 😰
