Sad to see the end of a 13 year run.
Did they explain why they ended it? I’m currently listening to it so maybe the reason is coming up. I’m a loyal listener and so a bit devastated and shocked that it wasn’t announced in advance.
It’s one of the most engaging shows I listen to so I’d be surprised if it was because of a shrinking audience.
Right? I don’t get how such a long running show can get the boot. I’ve been listening for years and I really enjoyed it, Jason Howell is a good host.
It was in the red, didn’t bring in enough as revenue.
This sucks, but maybe this will allow them to make “This week in Google” actually about Google and not just miscellaneous stuff.
It was a good show for android users like me and the lack of good alternatives indicates there isn’t a market for this type of show. We’re probably still in the early stages of losing the things we’re used to having because they’re no longer economically viable.
There was a time when there were a bunch of Android podcasts. But I think as Google has made Android more “boring” the interest for these has faded.
