The special counsel’s office said Trump’s lawyers opposed their motion seeking to take additional precautions for the prospective jurors in Washington, D.C., ahead of the March 2024 trial

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday cited security concerns and Donald Trump’s recent social media activity as reasons to get prospective Washington, D.C., jurors to fill out a written questionnaire ahead of the jury selection process for the former president’s upcoming March 2024 trial.

The 11-page motion filed Tuesday from Smith’s office centers around their 2020 election interference case against Trump, which charges the former president with four federal felonies including conspiracy to defraud the government.
