I recently broke my coffee carafe, so I’m on the market for a new one, and I was hoping to get some recommendations from people on here.

Preferably, it would be a double walled glass one, but I’ve really struggled to find many options. I’ve only really seen one offering from fellow, which is just a bit small for my needs, since I usually brew about 700ml. There’s also the fact that it’s quite pricey…

Anyone have any experiences with it? Is it actually worth it? Are there other options that fit the bill? Am I looking for the wrong thing entirely and maybe you can tell me why

Just quit with glass if it needs to be inexpensive. Buy the largest generic no-name stainless steel double walled french press you can find and use that. After breaking a few glass french press’, I got a large double wall stainless steel one but then stopped making press coffee. I now use it as the carafe for my pour over.

I’ve looked at steel ones, but I don’t find them very pretty. Would be happy enough with a clear plastic one, that I think would be a decent middle ground for durability, aesthetics and price

I don’t much care how it looks. It is a tool. Plastic is always an issue when used with hot liquids. Plastisizers transferring to foods. Stainless steel lasts forever.

If you are willing to at least consider stainless, Zojirushi makes some wonderful simple and durable without looking clunky products. I have an insulated carafe from them we use daily to keep extra brewed coffee warm so we don’t have to brew multiple times.
