A dead 19-year-old man was found hidden inside a freezer by the new homeowners - with the victim’s parents now arrested.

Logan Michael Halstead’s body was found decomposed as the new owners cleaned up their new home on Sunday morning. After they were unable to lift the freezer they decided to clear it out - which is when they found a human hand according to Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship.

Now Logan’s parents, Michael Shane Halstead, 44, and Karen Tysinger Halstead, 43, have been arrested, accused of abuse of a corpse, and are being held in jail without bond. It is believed Logan could have been killed all the way back in July or August, the Sheriff said.

All else aside, if you hide a corpse in a freezer, how stupid do you have to be to just leave it there when you sell the house? That seems like an absolutely sure-fire way to ensure you’re getting caught. Unless they just forgot it was there, which would be even crazier.

If they’re dumb enough to leave the corpse in their backyard, they’re probably dumb enough to think they were framing the new home-owners by selling the house.

Let this be a reminder to us all that we should clean out our freezers. Lets be honest I think a handfull of us have some frozen chicken that has been hiding in the back since 2015.

The good gentleman is ignoring the obvious precedent established in Finders, Keepers v., Losers, Weepers, the corpse obviously belongs to the homeowners.

I mean, it’s hardly bird law.

You should read the article because it’s way fucking crazier than you think:

Sources told WTVY that Michael Halstead informed officers that they had put Logan’s body into the freezer on October 11. The sources claimed that Headland Police failed to find the body which was allegedly wrapped up in blankets and tarpaulin. Halstead was also arrested that day and jailed for ten days for failing to show up to court on domestic abuse charges.

The police KNEW there was a body in the freezer because the dad TOLD them. The police failed to find the body they knew was on the property IN A FREEZER.

How it got in the freezer in the first place? No ine can really say not even the guy who put it there:

Sheriff Blankenship said that Halstead claimed to have had a manic episode and couldn’t remember how the body got into the freezer.

So yes it’s even crazier. It’s not really clear from the article what the cause of death was, but a bipolar dad that doesn’t remember exactly why they put a body in a freezer is a pretty solid suspect. Shit is absolutely wild and I’m just sitting here wondering how many freezers they had on the property for the police to not find it AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS THERE.

They just moved in, too. You know they at least briefly considered ignoring the body and pretending they saw nothing. Granted, it’s not ideal, but do you want to do the whole “find a place” process again!? Which is worse, really?

“We can clean up the corpse stench hon, we’re not going back into the housing market again. And hey, I think we get a discount on therapy too…”
