During a recent interview, the actress also explains why she doesn’t consider herself a movie star.
To fit with the theme of the first movie, the second movie is just the first movie again, but from a slightly different angle.
I Will watch it again just like I did it many times for the first movie
While sequels to closed stories are usually terrible, they can actually pull off a prequel with her character getting the omega’s power, before Cage came into the picture.
I can see the narrative opportunity for that, but I think doing a 2nd movie that doesn’t include both the stars would feel like a missed opportunity.
i think it would be nice if they had a baby and the baby turned out to be infested with an alien pathogen, and it ate everything up, and left some nice sauce to french chefs to enjoy.
The first movie wasn’t all of the comic, there’s more story left.
It’s a short novel, and the movie wasn’t any of it
Highly recommend the book, it’s incredible
It’s also a manga I guess? I definitely read it in panel format and he carried a huge axe. The ending is the best part is why I even bothered to comment.
Correct
Light novel first, then manga, then the Hollywood adaptation
The manga has the additional story
Titled TooEdgy2Morrow. You heard it here first.
😂😂
Why does everything need a sequel? That movie was great all on its own, one of the few standalone sci fi movies made in recent years. Why do we need another? Is advertising a new movie that expensive that the marketing team needs to ride some else’s coattails to get results?
Cruise doesn’t make bad movies so if they want to do a sequel then I’m all for it.
Cough cough The Mummy cough
I thought it had been largely agreed upon that Mr. scientology middle-tooth jump-on-Oprah’s-couch serial-abusive-husband ruins everything he touches. I’ve actively avoided movies he had any involvement with for like two decades now, so I don’t have any knowledge of more recent work… Legend (1985) was pretty good, but Ridley Scot, Tim Curry and Mia Sara carried that film.
You ever heard of the Mission Impossible movies? Those are good.
Maverick was pretty good.
Unfortunate but he does make good action films.
Even his “smaller” projects were good - Jack Reacher, American Made, heck Oblivion was decent despite getting mixed reviews and not a huge moneymaker by Cruise standards.
The way in which and how heavily they were marketed turned me off of every one of them before they hit screens. Honestly, I’ve never seen a fast and furious film for the same reason. The harder someone tries to sell something, the more I have to wonder why the product can’t stand on its own.
I love people who have never seen the F&F movies. Because it starts off as good flashy dumb action that ABSOLUTELY MUST go bigger than last time.
I’m a car guy, I loved them so much. But even I reached a point where I was like “This shit is so fucking dumb” and stopped watching.
I find it interesting as to when people felt the need to tap out.
I am curious. Did you watch Barbie?
Nah. Not yet. Don’t know if I will eventually. Definitely not in any hurry to.
Id argue the opposite… kinda.
Its the fact that he makes really excellent movies is the only reason I watch them despite me being very against Scientology. Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best scifi movies of recent times.
This movie definitely doesn’t need a sequel. How about these hacks be creative and present us with new stories in the media format, just like they did with, I don’t know, the first adaptation?
They have the talent, they have the money. Just be creative and risk a little.
That’s the only reason we’re talking about this movie in the first place. They took the risk, and imo, it paid off. I understand it maybe didn’t do so well in the box office aspect, but look at the cult following this movie has.
Just leave this movie alone. Let’s have new cool stories, please!
I don’t think Edge of Tomorrow is where we need to start complaining about sequels. Edge of tomorrow, with Cruise and Blunt, was really unique and fun, and I’d like to see more.
I wholeheartedly agree with your point on the actors. Would be really interesting seeing them together in other contexts/stories, though.
Bill Paxton isn’t.
Too soon.
And for the record I freaking loved Bill Paxton, in this movie and about all of his work.
Damn, he ain’t gonna be in Edge of Tomorrow 3!
How about an actual adaptation of All You Need Is Kill instead
So Groundhog Day 3.
You mean Happy Death Day 3?
Just rewatched it yesterday. A sequel would be crap.
Tom Cruise is always good, so I believe in a sequel.
Other actors, not so much.
