Is there anything individual users can do?
I never even considered that the name referred to baby boomers I thought it just meant they went “boom”
I was surprised to see someone namedrop Gaia. I still log in daily out of habit.
Honestly I’m in a similar situation. Discord seems to be the way to go, but it’s hard to look past the privacy issues and enshittification. IIRC you can rig up Matrix to work with discord “servers” but I don’t see how that would solve the root problem.
Here’s hoping we’re find a solution.
Like for dice, right? :)
I have always been a nintendo fan, but I haven’t bought a single thing from them since news of his sentencing came out. Until Gary is freed I’m buying used, pirating, or doing without. I can’t support the company anymore. I need a new controller for my switch (because all four of my existing controllers have broken in some way), and rather than buying an official or licensed controller, I just bought an adapter that let me use other controllers like the dualsense.
Side note, I know he’s “freed” as in not in prison, but he’s still basically owned by nintendo for life. It’s slavery.
Nah it’s cool.
I’ve found scans of old game guides on archive.org, and you can still check out https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ for walkthroughs, many of which are just .txt files that you can save and/or print.

Get out. >:(
I have an RG353V. I got that one for ~the aesthetic~ (looks like an old gameboy), and I do like it, but I can see why people generally suggest a model with a horizontal form factor instead, since the vertical (gameboy shaped) is not very ergonomic. I mainly stick to 8 or 16-bit games. but it should be able to handle 5th gen consoles (saturn, ps, n64) just fine, but 6th gen (dc, ps2, gamecube) will depend on what game you’re running and may require tweaking the settings. ps3 is right out, I’m afraid.
Like I said, I mainly run older stuff, so double check what I’m saying if 5th and 6th gen games are important to you. I don’t really mess with those.
If you want a handheld, Anbernic makes some good stuff. https://anbernic.com/ They do tend to load the SD card up with games beforehand, but the card is cheap & likely to fail, and the games are sorted & titled strangely (and may be otherwise dodgy). So you probably want to replace it with your own card with games you sourced yourself.
Blue’s my favorite color. Can you post a pic of it in use?
Nice! Have you tried any yet?
There’s an Indian food buffet right next to where I work and it’s really good. I went there a few times… but the last time I did, I got sick. Like, projectile vomiting sick. Not sure I wanna go back. _;
A miserable pile of content.
OK, this doesn’t have swipe to type or a notepad, but I’m trying out Thumb-Key. It’s a very different sort of keyboard, almost akin to the old-fashioned way of texting with just the number keys on a phone, just updated for a smartphone screen. The problem is that it takes practice/memorization to learn, because it’s a whole new layout. It’s open source and very privacy conscious (there’s no predictive text or autocorrect).
Excellent. Never going back to reddit.
Nice! What will you do with it? I like journaling with my pens.
Nice, very pretty!
