Yup. Definitely keep an eye out in case they try something. I remember a story about one on a balcony dropping pot plants off the side. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-30/cockatoo-video-dropping-pot-plants-melbourne/101710478

Thank you. They were by the side of the road and used to humans nearby. Ive seen them before chill around parks and fly off whenever they think we get too close.
I’m not aware of them being poisonous. I wasn’t in fear of my safety at any time while near them and treated them like a chicken or turkey. When i did try and get close, they moved away a little and I wasn’t trying to pick it up or touch it, i don’t think anyone recommends that. If i did, i guess the worst I was have expected was a scratching.
For me if it was a magpie or cockatoo, i’d have kept on walking, but as it wasnt something i didnt see every day, the phone came out.
It looks like the front hasn’t fallen off.
Edit: context for those not aware - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m5qxZm_JqM . The front section of a oil tanker fell off and it started leaking crude oil into the ocean off perth and it caught fire.
The two actors are comedians who (then) regularly did send ups of politicians in the last few minutes broadcast each week on an otherwise serious news show.
Thank you.
Would you be open to changing who hosts your servers?

Thanks, i’ve updated the title.
I didn’t want to use its common name, but its reputation precedes it. I’ve got some new shots of a laughing chicken in the queue to post as well as a 'flamin chicken.
No, but thats some good news, i knew there werent many cane toad predators
Thanks for this.
There might be several things spawned from the initial upload and kept around. If i click on this post, initially im shown a square thumbnail, a ~20kb .webp file. If i click on the image, it shows me another .webp which is a bigger file and it doesnt fully show on the screen.
Clicking a third time opens up a .jpg for me, as best as i can tell its the original upload.
Maybe whats served depends on the view or app each person is using… It might be further complicated if the server knows whether the person is viewing on a mobile device and try and serve lower resolution. . But i try and upload at atleast 1920x1080.
Thank you.
The resolution is news to me, i thought what was posted was made available to everyone at 1920x1080. Are you seeing it as a .webp or something ? Ive increased the exposure setting and re-exported at max res, does this help ?
I didnt realise that posts here could be affecting there resolution from what was posted. This should be around 3,300 pixels wide.
Not sure, Sorry if i was unclear, i wasn’t seeking an identification, but thought the photo would be of interest to people here. I dont want anyone to go out of their way to find out, it was just a bird I took a photo of as i walked past it and is different to the ones i see here day to day.
In Aus, we have 000, triple zero. I think 112 works here too, might just be mobiles though. It used to be triple oh, but some people saw the keypads had letters on them and dialled 777 or whatever number o was on.
I’ve probably seen too much American media. I’m happy for any, even 0118 999 881 999 119 725 … 3 but it might be a bit hard to learn.
As another avenue to the report button, could Lemmy world have a new community LemmyWorldSupport_911 where anyone can post and it’s monitored by moderators or admins and they can promptly react?. (911 =American number for emergency services)
As part of the community rules, posting for stuff that doesn’t warrant a 911 reaction could result an penalties for anyone looking to “prank” it or abuse it’s intended purpose.
Some small communities only have one mod and that mod has to sleep.
If it helps, these struck me as the seagulls buff cousins. They were keeping their distance and didnt care for humans from what i saw, atleast they weren’t approaching us or others nearby wanting to be fed.
Yes, i these got “introduced” to me after one of them nested in a park, right next to the footpath. So, cross road, walk past park. cross road again became the norm for a bit.
Thank you. I’ll try and get out more regularly and get some more. Ive got myna’s and eastern rosellas on the list i want to get more shots of.
It’s a photo I took while out on a walk. A hoverfly on a sunflower.
I try to post interesting shots to mastodon and c/pics and help grow Lemmy and the fediverse.
