Yes, I have never owned anything else. I really struggle to drive auto/CVT, honestly, it’s so confusing for me.

You can also gift something like 12 million in your lifetime tax free, so pass on as much as you can, to your family that way, before you die.
If you don’t keep all your money in 1 bank accounts the FDIC insurance will cover it. Iirc it’s either 250k per account, or maybe it was per person, per institution.
I’m pretty sure that pretty much anyone else that’s ever been “delayed medical care” has the been out on house arrest. Why wasn’t he moved to a different jail, fed if necessary? Why did all these traitors get special treatment? Iirc the shaman asshat wasn’t getting his mommies organic food so he threw a fit and got some kind of special treatment too. Plus all the ridiculously comically light sentences.
Maybe I’m dumb, but if I go buy property in Mexico (for instance) and the government decides to take it, or I stop paying on it, or run out of money, I don’t get any protections for my money. I can’t file for bankruptcy and keep my money safe. I gambled and lost.
Why do non American companies/people have the opportunity to file for bankruptcy as protection in a country they aren’t beholden to the rules of?

Can I promote a community I started, when I migrated here? I had hoped it would pick up a little steam, but sadly, I’m alone there. If you’re a woman runner, check out https://kbin.social/m/XXRunning
That OSHA warning is great.
It sounds like I’m about the same age as you. Yeah, it’s crazy how well it worked. I remember those VHS too. They were so awkward. It’s also crazy how many people my age STILL thinks things like unions, OSHA, workers rights, never talking to other employees about your wages, etc are bad. Like does no one look around?
Fair. Thank you for the answer.
I’m genuinely curious, and I’m not trying to start an argument, but why do you think that OP should pay for the cab ride home? I’m going to assume the woman was not an escort, that she went to OP’s place of her own accord, and was a willing participant. So my questions is why is it seen as the “right thing to do” to give her money to get home?
I ask this as a woman, who would never assume that I didn’t need to figure my own shit out, after a night of partying, because it’s my responsibility. I get it is probably the nice thing to do, maybe, but even then, she theoretically had fun too.
Paying for sex is negotiated ahead of time. Always.
If I had some fun with a random dude, and he asked me for money after (without any discussion beforehand), I’d laugh in his face. Largely because, um what, but also because that’s not my thing.
Unfortunately, there are still multiple generations of people that have been brainwashed into thinking that unions are the devil, and people should stop whining, and just get a better job. Those same people don’t see how the modern job market has changed, in addition to the obvious issues with their beliefs. I remember all the propaganda when I was younger.
Those same people also tend to rail against anything that offers THEM protections, like OSHA. It’s an uphill battle.
Agreed, but in theory you wouldn’t be able to add milk (it’s a drink after all)
I prefer green tea personally, but recently found some Hawaiian Mamaki Tea, and I’m loving it.
I was thinking the same thing. Unless I drop mine, or can’t find the screens, it’ll last forever. Plus it tastes better to me anyhow
I maintain that they are tiny dinosaurs. Adorable tiny dinosaurs, but dinosaurs none the less.
Also, don’t forget about how loud they are. They can hit some notes that I’m not sure kids can.
I have made friends with a salmon crested cockatoo, he’s in his mid 50s, and awesome. So yeah, they live forever.
I totally don’t miss all the flashing shit, and awful music on every site. Nor do I miss super long load times, but I do miss the more personal feeling. I also miss feeling like every click wasn’t someone trying to get me to give them my money, or steal my info. Don’t get me wrong, there were toxic parts of the internet back then, but I feel like its everywhere now.
Oh, and I’ll never miss that dial up sound, or dropping because someone picked the phone up. I also know popups and ads existed back then, but I feel like every site I go to now, I spend at least 45 seconds trying (often unsuccessfully) to close all the pop up and ads, just to attempt to read an article. Of course more pop up if you scroll to keep reading too.
Basically, I mostly agree with the article.
Libby is an online library, so you can borrow books from them. They also have audio books. All you need is a library card (which iirc you can sign up through libby).
You can read the books in the libby app itself (not bad, maybe a little clunky) or if you use something like a Kindle, you can have it sent to that, and read like normal. I believe it does others than kindle, but that’s what I use, so that’s all i know.
Not only is attempted murder of a cop. It’s on fucking video. There is literal undisputed (can’t wait for the deep fake, or AI generated fake vid defenses incoming) proof he did it.
IMO anything with that horrible foam (most shoes at this point) is going to last a year TOPS. In fact, running shoes with foam, are supposed to be limited to around 300 miles.
If you are talking about something like a half cab, that has the standard vans soles, yeah, I agree quality has gone down some (same with those new chuck 70s). They feel cheaper, and are made from far cheaper materials.
Personally, I have tons of shoes that are decades old, and still going, but I do not own any shoes with foam (mostly chuck taylors). And I’m apparently not very hard on shoes, somehow.
I think the unfortunate reality is you’ll have to buy some expensive, high quality shoes, or expect to throw shoes out yearly.
There are companies like this one who claim to resole running shoes, but I don’t know how far they can/do go, and have never used them before.
At this point, because I’ve seen the show, I’d have to go back and re-read all the books, to even start Winds of Winter. It’s all so mashed together in my head, I don’t remember the real story very well.
I’ve also accepted that he isn’t even going to finish the books.
Hands down one of the worst “feature” of new vehicles IMO. If you need help on a hill, either use the parking brake like everyone else, learn to drive better, or just drive an auto.
