  • Maybe I’m a bit cynical but having “Use common sense. Surely you can do that” as a rule leaves it open to abuse by sensitive mods. I’ve seen similar tools be used on Reddit as an emergency shutdown of discussions.

    Right now this very comment could be removed because I posed a question the mod deemed obvious, and thus there was no use of common sense and it’s fine to remove.

    I have an impression quite a few fediversians are cautious with this reddit migration seeing how the twitter migration to Mastodon brought over a lot of the bad stuff that people left twitter to get away from.

    This is a growing technology and our chance to make something beautiful. Please don’t turn it into reddit by abusing ambiguous rules.
