  • What community?

Stop having match threads and then you can rest assured no soccer community will ever form around here.

My comment was not about the bot but about the human (@Fer90Dar@lemmy.world) that post the match threads for everyone’s benefit.

I am not sure what you call main r/soccer page or separate r/soccer. Perhaps something to do with how you browse reddit. I used to browse reddit with an app (RIF) and old.reddit.com and there was no such separation. Furthermore, they not only have match threads but also post-match threads, goal threads and sometimes threads for red cards, tackles, VAR… and so on.

Obviously we don’t need all that around here but we need at least one post per match thread… That is the bare minimum to have, and that is why I remain strongly opposed to OP.

  • This was one or my favorite scifi flicks of the nineties.

I was a fan of Lambert (thanks to the Highlander movies) and big into scifi by then. That help me ignoring all the multiple reasons there are to bash this movie.

I never saw it again but I am sure it didn’t age well. I prefer to keep my memories about this movie intact.

The sequel (Fortress 2) was also bashed by the critics and it was not “good” as the first one, but I still saw it and enjoyed it.

  • Without relation to what Hermoso (or the RFEF PR team) says, it was not appropriate. Even if they are friends, Rubiales is there as La Liga president, not as a friend.

What would have been the public reaction if Infantino would have kissed Hermoso?

What would have been the public reaction if Rubiales would have kissed Queen Letizia?

This guy is a shame to Spanish soccer, I am surprised the backslash is mainly in social media and the mainstream media is just banking with clickbait low level articles. A shame.

  • Look for the movie Zeitgeist (free on YouTube) to understand how banks are able to lend money even if they don’t have it.

In a nutshell, they are able to lend multiple times the money they hold from depositing clients.

So for example. If a bank has $100m (clients deposits) they may be allowed, by law, to lend 10 times that amount… Even if they don’t have the money anywhere, the central bank in their country will facilitate that money to the bank. There is much more to this mechanic but this is the core of how the banks work all around the world.
