I’m not such a monkey, and I could probably contribute if I put my mind to it, but I just don’t have the time… Instead I try to contribute documentation and money when I can. Everything helps!
Maybe the lemmy.world mods are just following The Golden Path, making the Fediverse more resilient through their tyranny!
I have a Ryzen 3700x that had similar problems. In my case disabling Precision Boost Overdrive and regular Precision Boost eliminated the crashes. PB being just the regular boosting behavior of the CPU. With it turned off the CPU basically only adjusts its frequency between the idle frequency of like 800 MHz to the base clock (3.6 GHz or whatever).
I think basically what happened was the BIOS was running the CPU too hot and eventually it just couldn’t stably boost to the higher frequencies which would cause problems. It’s an easy thing to try and see if it works for you. In my case I was able to salvage the CPU by putting it into a server whose workload doesn’t benefit from moment to moment super high CPU clock speeds.
My Lemmy life flashing before my eyes…
One good latex pillow for me.
I enjoyed Ride the Rails but that’s the only game of yours that I’ve played as far as I can recall. Our group has Age of Steam coming to the table at some point.
I haven’t gotten into train games too much, but it seems like a crowded space, with lot’s of games trying to recreate / perfect the magic of older games. Sort of like pirate games and Merchants and Marauders.
I was really disappointed with Maglev Metro. One of my favorite games of all time is Bus, and I was hoping for something a bit more modern and the transparent tiles in Maglev Metro were the perfect amount of gimmicky for me.
But after playing it with my board game group, it felt like it was only 75% of a game. There was almost zero player interaction and I was not expecting it to be multiplayer solitaire.
I imagine Republicans are doing this not only in the name of the Culture War, but to cultivate an under educated class of manipulable labor (possibly with indentured servitude as the end goal). They know that current and future students will have a harder time leaving for greener pastures due to not being competitive potential hires.
Most of the companies I’ve worked for have a diverse workforce. As Globalization continues, this will be true for more and more companies. Why would such a company hire someone who doesn’t know how to interact with non-white non-cis-male team members because they think their entire existence is taboo? It is a skills-gap issue at the end of the day.
Anyway, that’s my civil take on the matter…
I think condensation could present an issue at such low temperatures, but I’ve never gone quite that cold.
We have a moral obligation to encourage these people to self rapture.
KeePassXC (there’s a Firefox extension too) and Syncthing are the first things I add to a new install.
Damn, hitting them hard with reality at the end there lol
Their PowerPanel Personal and Business editions both seem to work with all of their UPS models. I used to run PowerPanel Business on a basic tower-style model.
Oh yep, my bad. Didn’t see the iOS stipulation initially.
I’ve been really enjoying the latest Thunderbird.
Not sure what you mean, they’ve been posting fairly regular updates on software and infrastructure improvements and security audit responses on their blog for the entire time I’ve been a customer (6 years).
$1000 for a device with an N5100 CPU seems… mispriced.
Their value system does not consider consistency as a virtue. This is why shaming them as hypocrites does not bother them or resonate with their supporters.
To have an affect, the shaming needs to reflect their values. For example, being lazy and not wanting to work.
Sarah is too lazy to do good work that would hold up to public scrutiny, so she’s trying to change the law so she can hide her low quality work.
This has a better chance of getting her supporters to question her actions, putting her on defense.
Shaming based on civilized values does not work on the uncivilized.
