I’ve had great luck with speakers hitting local pawn shops. I live near an Air Force base and a Navy base and it seems like when those folks get transfered, it happens quick, and they pawn some really great stuff. I scored a set of powered Audio Engine monitors for $150 and an older pair of JBL studio reference monitors for $75. That said, be careful with receivers/amps, especially if they are cheap cheap. Also test each output before you leave the store. Got a little burned on an older Onkyo that only 2 of the 7 outputs worked… One of the shops here offers a 7 day return for $20 extra and I ALWAYS get it.

On a trip in Nola and took the kids for a treat at the Cheesecake Factory. 3 sodas and an iced tea was $21. Won’t be back for that reason alone. We are being fleeced.

If your city has a hazardous waste disposal location, you can take them there. In my area, it’s the same place that i take old paint and stain, batteries, solvents, tube tvs etc. our area has two dumps but only one of them takes hazardous materials, so I would do a little research.

Fingers McGee is definitely a keeper. His furrowed brow and lack of wedding ring show he’s definitely on the market. By bucking the traditional maga red, his bright blue hat he shows he is his own person. He also connects to his roots with a shirt featuring a sweet whitetail ready for mounting.

Dopey on his left let’s the ladies know he is prepared with two pens in his T-shirt pocket. His four necks shows he can afford groceries in Biden’s economy.

Just behind Dopey is my pervy 9th grade math teacher that always made comments about his “skivies” and not holding farts in. He’s off the market as he is married to Louise. She’s loves her neighborhood - except that weird Laotian family down the block - and truly believes Thelma Harper from Momma’s Family is a fashion icon.

To the right is Russian expat, Leonard Chesnakek, aka Lenny Chesney . He loves his folded hat with sunglasses more than his mom’s borsht. He also secretly loves his matching pink shirt and shorts even though he tells his girlfriend of 2 weeks, Mary, he hates them because “they’re gay”. Mary has no idea what’s going on and is wondering when she can go pee.

To Lefty’s immediate right, we witness Don and Lisa having an existential moment. After 26 years in the military and defending the constitution, the realization that 2 years of retirement and a 10 hour daily dose of FEAUX News might not have been such a good idea.

I get it. That’s character to me. I have 2 knives that are high carbon steel and standing water on the blade is a big no-no.

On a side note - told a friend about this post and my question and she showed me a board made from a stump of a tree from her childhood home. Its 20+ years old with weekly use and a bimonthly oiling and just looks well used. Never know it was that old and super cool.

She said if her house was on fire, she’d “save her’ kid’s photos and then the board…maybe the board first.” 🤣

Beautiful board. I want to get rid of all my plastic boards, and would love something like this. Does it hold up to every day use? Do the knife marks give it “character”?

Came in here to mention how much a of a dick Maynard was to a seamstress friend of mine. It was an hour or so before showtime and she had the audacity to replace the button on his vintage leather Cavaricci pants with one that wasn’t an actual Cavaricci button. He treated her like a foolish peasant that should have been more prepared to deal with an elite. Seems kinda light considering the other posts, but anytime I can call him out for being a dick, I’mma do it.
