My almost adult son once tried to convince me that dishwashers work better when the dishes aren’t rinsed first.

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Will keep you fit, you won’t be able to think about your life problems for 1-hour … guaranteed, you’ll make new friends, you will build mental resilience and you’ll learn self-defence. So many benefits as long as you train for the long-term and avoid injury.
Is it just me or are these cartoons really basic and boring?
If the Fediverse is truly the architecture of the future, then shouldn’t it be able to stand any attempt by Meta to control it? If Meta is able to control it, then isn’t it the wrong solution?
Yes! Bury your seafood waste, like prawn shells and fish heads, next to the tree and you will get large sweet bananas (assuming watering and general feeding). Applies to most fruit trees.
Doesn’t matter which side you are on, no human should be treated this way.
Agreed. I see supply chains (both production and logistics) for all sectors either disappearing all together or becoming severely limited. This will drive population reduction and the development of local economies. Local food production will become the highest valued commodity but the primary input (water) will be increasingly scarce and valuable. Rainwater harvesting will be a priority for all along with solar energy production and storage.
I can go anywhere there is alcohol present and not drink it.
Depends how you define user. If I am googling for answers to a problem and find it on Reddit, am I a user?
Lemmy is only one component of the Fediverse. We are Citizens of the Federated Universe!
The default view of Subscribed is already an option under user settings in Jerboa.
There is also an option not to show posts you have read but be warned it really won’t show you posts you have read including your own posts in your profile view.
I don’t think a consensus alternative is necessarily required. It might be best for the masses to be split amongst the many alternatives giving each one an opportunity to grow, improve and potentially rise up as a result of this event. I for one will not be using Reddit at all except for very specific sources of information which I will probably just scrape and store offline anyway.
I also like the concept of fediverse instances being local, meaning the internet is becoming truly more physically decentralized with local home based servers providing a base for local user registration and content creation/consumption. This has the potential for users to start ‘filtering’ their online experience to content created by the people in their local communities versus just a vast pool of global users.
Just another feature imo
