Just add HideDesktopPreviewBanner=true to the [General] section in the ~/.config/kdeglobals file and restart plasmashell with systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service or just log out and back in.

Very true. There are obviously some community projects, but no doubt, official software would be better. Or even better, if they would make it easy for the community to develop those tools.

Plus, I guess I also mean the other people who disliked my comment for seemingly no other reason but me deciding to not use something. Why does it concern them?

No, I do not. Except when I’m looking for something and reddit is the only place where I can find my answers. But that rarely happens.
