Nope. War is still bad, which is why the invading country should stop or be made to stop if they won’t do so voluntarily.

Here’s a fun exercise. If a foreign hostile power invaded the area you live in, using an excuse that has enough elements of truth to not technically be a flat out lie, how much of that land should be given up to appease them?

A worthwhile thing to keep in mind whether it’s for tea, supplements, or whatever, is that medication is based on things that were observed from “natural” sources.

For example, willow bark was/is/has been used for pain and inflammation. It also contains salicin which is similar to acetysalicylic acid, which you’ll know better as aspirin.

Does that mean all the things people say do a thing work? Not at all. Do some of them have varying degrees of effect of some percentage of people? Yes.

I’m very much with you there. The other option was rooted in the idea of being invested in improvement for their constituants. As long as you crack down on “contributions” you’d probably also see a lot less PAC money in a whole lot of areas too.

But there should be more motivation for them to see the people succeed. The job itself clearly isn’t enough for a lot of them.

There are a few things that should be tied to other things imo.

Congressional salary? Median income for your district might be a good one. Something related to minimum wage could also work.

Y’know, except the minimums that already exist.

If there’s a lower limit there should be an upper one. If we’re acknowledging that different people can be more or less capable in their 80s then we should do the same for late 20s.

But we won’t because anyone young enough is a “dumb kid” to far too many Americans, especially the ones ok with the status quo.

I suspect something else is going on there. I made that switch years ago and haven’t found a site that doesn’t play nice with Firefox in that time.

I can’t speak for Canada but the American unemployment system is broken like the rest of them are. It won’t pay enough for a lot of people. I know more than one person who wouldn’t get it at all after they got screwed over on an appeal which meant that they had to pay back what they were already sent, often many weeks later. If it’s not paid back then you just won’t receive unemployment until it is.

There’s also fields it can be hard to break in to. They tend to be small and insular so getting a bad rep from one can blackball you from your dreams. Doubly so or more if you’re a women or otherwise not a straight white Christian guy.

Cutting is also not an uncommon mental health issue. With any number of other things weighing down it can easily become a more reasonable seeming option.

There’s a whole world of experiences out there. A lot of people are desensitized to things you’d probably find outlandish.

Would love to emigrate to Europe myself. Familial and social reasons make that difficult. A lack of funds make it unfeasible. So for the foreseeable future I’ve gotta deal with the crap I’ve got.
