My problem with forums is that they spiral out of control. Forum lovers see this as a huge plus but I’m not reading 1700 pages (not posts) of bullshit across three posts just to get to the current info.
Any time I see

At the bottom of a post I just click off the website and go somewhere else.
I really liked the client but HTML emails are a real pain in the ass.

Man I am SO glad I stopped playing WoW. What a fucking clown show.
I have a server with a RAID-1 array, that makes daily, weekly, and monthly read only btrfs snapshots. The whole thing (sans snapshots) is sync’d with syncthing to two rPi’s in two different geographic locations.
I know neither raid nor syncthing are “real” backup solutions, but with so many copies of the files living in so many locations (in addition to my phone, laptop, etc.) I’m reasonably confident its a decent solution.
So don’t do that if that’s important to you. I don’t. Besides, home assistant has its own local voice commands if you want them.
Honest question, do you use Home Assistant?
You must be here from c/all. Home Assistant is a self-hosted application and stores all of its data locally on hardware you own and control. If there’s data mining, its because you put it there yourself.

It is a text editor from the 50s or 60s, so right off the nat you aren’t getting a product you’re at all familiar with. Its been a while since I cracked it open but from memory you can only view one line of code at a time. You have to specify the line of code that you want to view, the commands are esoteric, and there is no help available in the application itself. As I recall it was pretty much immediately replaced with better editors, such as og vi.
Its sort of like programming in sed. Sure, you can, but why?

No, I think its better that we don’t remember. Plus, life wouldn’t be at all novel if you’ve already experienced everything there is for you to enjoy.

I think it 's (Edit: started out) more about how Tim Buckley is terrible than anything. (Edit: Then from there it) sort of collapsed into its own joke. No one really knows or cares about the context anymore, its become a self-contained meme with no real meaningful connection to Tim, the original comic, or its message now.
Man they keep coming back to the litterbox thing, it really freaks them tf out. Even though its been debunked dozens of time, my conservative friends all swear they know a guy that knows a guy that swears he saw one for real!
