I grabbed a display TV and haven’t hooked it up to the internet, so far so good. Could look into that.

I know some folks who have problems running onlyoffice- apparently LibreOffice is the fork/spiritual successor to it. Haven’t used it a lot but so far it’s run decently.
I haven’t paid for proton yet but am considering it, and the VPN is the big selling factor currently. I’d use the email, drive, and VPN. Bitwarden or KeePass are good free password managers. Other VPNs have comparable pricing to Proton’s whole one-person suite, so I figure it’s more bang for the buck.

I like guerrilla mail (short term email generation) but I’ve found that a lot of their domains are blocked by these sites I’m trying to sign up for >:(
I also second this, has basic smartwatch features and if you want to get in the weeds and install your own OS just get the developer kit. For 30 bucks I said it’s worth a test at least.
Not sure what difference that makes since the military uses the MS office suite for everything
He gets some hate but Rob Braxman on YouTube/Odyssey was one of my gateway drugs into the privacy community. He is kind of obnoxious at times but lays out a lot of technical and basic advice pretty well I think. Learned about degoogled phones and Bluetooth risks from him as a couple of examples. I also second Luis Rossman on YouTube/Grayjay, he’s more on the philosophical and legal side of things.
I started using a password manager for a lot of my passwords. Works pretty well, it’ll generate criteria matching passwords for me. Also functions as a list of websites I’ve created accounts with.
That’s frustrating. Here’s to hoping someone will come up with a FOSS solution.
Pretty sure Fdroid has a basic messaging app or two that might fit the bill so you don’t have to use google.
Soundcore by Anker Life Q20+ headphones have been good to my family. Seventy bucks, has a detachable aux cord (wired only does normal though, no ANC), stellar battery life even with ANC, microphone, has normal and pass-through modes in addition to ANC, and a nice protective bag. I used them for months as regular headphones attached to my computer. The ANC is not the end all be all but definitely helps with plane noise, I could hear flight attendants much easier.
Edit - and no app required whatsoever!
I think there is a front end app on Fdroid for ChatGPT, might be a viable workaround
These measurements were only genuinely started within the last hundred years, and people have been prophesying the end of the world the entire way. Greta posted a now-deleted tweet that said we’d all be toast in three years…back in 2018, for example. Climate changes, sure. But who is to say this isn’t natural and we may go back down in the future? These CO2 greenhouse gases that are said to be smothering the planet are estimated to be deadly at around 15% iirc. The atmosphere contains a fraction of a fraction of a percent of these. So while I definitely advocate stewardship of our environment, I sincerely doubt climate change will be what does us in and the people hyping it up are often doing so with intent separate from making the environment better. The climate change religion is easy to lean on because it’s been so widely propagated.
does mbin have an app for ios/android yet?
