Kind of funny then to use a picture of an Italian pistol for the article then
I’d challenge anyone to A/B a 16bit 44kHz sampled digitization with the original and tell the difference consistently. This is one of the reasons I love pbthal vinyl rips, his rig is awesome, I could never afford it, and it captures the sound I’m looking for. The 24 bit 192kHz vinyl rips on torrent sites are chasing ratio IMO.
There is also the trifle that they’d need to be redesigned to place the driver controls on the left. And then of course nobody would buy them even if they were exempt from most of that, because they were made to do 25km/h through Japanese villages and are not well suited for American freeway use.
There are times these apps make sense. I crashed my motorcycle doing an ubereats delivery and broke my collarbone, and then used the service myself a bunch of times while healing. Ironic, but that’s life.
Side note for the people wondering what happens when you don’t tip upfront (on UE at least): Prospective drivers see an offer of $4-6 for a job that will take them 45 minutes and say “fuck that” while they slam the ‘no’ button. This will go on for a while until the system is able to find another order on the way to combine it with, or someone accepts it anyway.
Not for the 1099 people on the apps

I like O&O ShutUp10++
That’s hard to comprehend, since vtsax is up about 100% since 2014. Did the other funds really perform that badly?
Of course, takeoff and climb are typically at full power but to reach cruising altitudes for a single engine airplane doesn’t take very long. It’s a similar concept to a car on a highway onramp, except that airplanes actually get more efficient at higher altitudes.
It factors into overall consumption but it doesn’t really blow the whole equation for efficiency. Pilots in training do takeoffs and landings on repeat for hours at a stretch between refueling.
A Rutan Long EZ running autogas has a better environmental footprint than a Prius and is more than twice as fast
“FAA approved STCs for the use of G100UL in all general aviation piston airplanes in September 2022”

God that is so fucking glorious
Further clarification: Only gasoline powered aircraft without the Auto Fuel STC require leaded fuel.
Although, there is an initiative underway to fully phase out leaded avgas. G100UL is the FAA approved formulation. Exciting time and long overdue.
Would be super impressed if a C130 didn’t end up in the cornfield on t/o
It’s not on my ID, though. And even if it were, they’d need a way to monitor actual occupancy over time and there’s no way that wouldn’t be invasive.
It’s common and reasonable to be away from home for months at a time, and you have a right to travel. I can only imagine the burden this would place on someone who’s away for medical treatment or supporting a distant family member. Or just out of the house for renovations or an issue they can’t afford to fix currently.
The administrative burden alone would be huge before you get to unintended consequences.
Had the same perception on a dualsport motorcycle. Great being able to see over traffic but oh man it’s a long way down when you fall.
Total control of the narrative and over life itself, they’ll settle for nothing less
