X-Men Cypher. The power to instinctively know/understand all languages.
This is the best, most OP, power set that is nonviolent in nature.
You’re never gonna take over the world and rule with an iron fist, but using a liberal definition of “languages”, there’s not much you couldn’t do. And it would fly under the radar too. No one would be gunning for you like they would be gunning for Superman or any other high level power set.
Sit back, rule the poker world, be a software mogul, sleep with beautiful people, etc. You may not rule the world, but you could live a life of idle luxury without much effort.
What’s the weight limit on the edge of those shelves?
I’ve always wanted a floating desk/shelf for my pc setup, but I’m not sure it would be stable enough. (Not a wood worker, just a guy with a dream.)
Fantasies??? Please, I have plans!!!
Jesus. You said angry. /s
And here I was just going to use telekinesis to manipulate the ball in a game of roulette.
And here I thought the Jewish faith didn’t have an afterlife?
So much conflicting information in this religion thing. I think I’ll just avoid it all together.
I remember something a friend said to me once. We were watching an action movie and during a well choreographed sequence I said something about wanting to be able to fight like that. My friend said, “sorry, you’ve only got one life”.
Nothing is impossible, but after a certain point in life, you’re simply unable to achieve that which would take a lifetime to master.
Both of those assessments are true.
It’s a fun background show but if you binge it, it will begin to show it’s repetitive humdrum quickly.
I enjoyed it. Bruce Campbell is always a treat. Jeffery Donovan is a good actor that should’ve been used more. And Gabrielle Anwar is not only easy on the eyes, but she plays a decent character. Shame they stopped the Irish accent after the first episode for her though. That added to her sexiness for sure.
I was trying to figure out what caused wind. I noticed the leaves moving when the wind blew, and I knew that a fan (handheld) also moved wind. So it stood to reason that trees moved causing the leaves to move which caused the wind. And naturally it must be earthquakes that caused the tree to love. And then I thought, we’ll there must be a master tree that started the wind, and the most “logical” place for that tree would be the North Pole.
So, that there was a tree on the North Pole that caused all the wind.
French toast > pancakes > waffles
You dammed heathen!
Anytime a comedian takes on a dramatic role and nails it.
Off the top of my head….
Robin Williams: Dead Poets Society (and many more, I think that was his first) Bill Hader: Barry. Jim Carrey: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is……
My personal conspiracy theory is that almost all art the public is exposed to is a forgery. Why show the plebs the real thing? We wouldn’t notice a difference anyway.
While I can’t confirm “worst”, I can safely say that they were the worst I’ve personally experienced.
And everyone I know who has had gallbladder attacks agree that it’s the worst they experienced too. Including women who went through childbirth.
Hell, my first attack I called an ambulance because I thought I was having a heart attack. It sucks, 0/5.
Not so long as there are “haves” and “have-nots”.
Anything by Tad Williams.
I mean I loved (LOVED!) his stories, but my disappointment comes from never being willing to read them again. He paints beautiful worlds, with a rich detailed filled story….But, somewhat ironically, he is the driest author I have ever read. I just can’t do that to myself.
Ya, I can see that. I really had to stick with grinding through the first two books. Top notch writing and characters (imo), but the confusion about what was going on was a tough slog to get through.
Still became one of my favourite series though. If you’re ever stranded on a beautiful tropical island and happen to have this book, I do encourage you to try it again.
A lot of early DnD stuff was awful. Even as an adolescent I could tell it was bad writing.
FWIW: All military themed shows coming from mainstream Hollywood is US military propaganda.
I don’t think that’s entirely accurate. There were other paths to citizenship (iirc something akin to the peace corps and perhaps even business success? It’s been a while since I read it). But it wasn’t just military. It’s just that military was the easiest for most people.
