It is directly pulled from their recent remake of link’s awakening, so that makes a lot of sense

I posted this comment on a similar topic a while ago, for context it was replying to someone who wanted to pick 2 LeGuin novels to read to essentially get a survey of her work. I’ve liked her standalone novels as well, but I see them get less discussion generally. I think her work that I see referenced most often is the short story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas.

LeGuin is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read a lot, but not all of LeGuin’s novels. She has 2 main multibook series that I’ve read, the Earthsea books and the Hainish cycle.

Earthsea is sort of YA fantasy, but grows up throughout the series. The first 3 are a self contained trilogy, and my favorite is Tombs of Atuan which is book 2, I think would be okay as a standalone title. My other favorite is Tales from Earthsea which is book 5, and is a collection of short stories set in the setting. You’d be missing a little context only reading Tales, but this could also be a standalone.

The Hainish cycle is scifi, and are only loosely connected by the setting and don’t have a too firmly established chronology, or any shared main characters. My favorite from the Hainish Cycle is The Left Hand of Darkness and my 2nd favorite is The Dispossessed.

Dirty girl is the brand, they are ankle gaiters that work with most trail running and low to mid height hiking boots. They do a pretty good job of keeping dust and rain out of your shoes from the top, and them only being ankle height means they are both lighter weight, and nicer when its hot out, but offer less protection if it is really cold and rainy.

They’re olive drab color, so fab to be drab is probably just some branding speak for that.

You could use a divider caliper to be able to translate the size of a fastener to a spot that is easier to measure, if you don’t have to swap between inches and metric it would probably be easy to be accurate enough with it without much practice.

What kind of climate are you in? Is your outside winter snowy, or rainy, or something else?

In my experience leather will shape and take on your feet’s shape more, and synthetics will stay truer to their starting fit. Resoleable is good and frugal, if there is a cobbler around that can resole them, if you’ll have to mail them out it can start to make a bit less sense. I’ve liked the redwings, danners, and asolos that I’ve had, but try them on! My feet are not your feet!

Whatever you get, try them on with the socks you intend to wear with them, big wool ones if it gets real cold in your neck of the woods. Treat them! If you are dealing with snow and grit and salt you need to treat them,and probably more fequently than you might expect. I’ve used Nor-v-gen, and nikwax, and a few others before and haven’t had one that felt it stood up particularly better.

I buy books that I have already read if I would like to: have one around, reference, reread, recommend/loan/give, or to start conversations.

If a book was important to me intellectually or emotionally, just having a copy around and just noticing it occasionally reminds myself of whatever was important about it, and that can be valuable to me.

All her hainish cycle books are really good too, which is a very loosely connected shared universe, that left hand of darkness takes place in.

Not since the grave of the fireflys // totoro relase has an opposite tone double feature appealed so much.

This was the one on the list that I am probably most initially hyped for, I loved this game as a kid!

I mean, if he actually wants to do it and the give him the creative control for it then he remains as good a choice as he was originally to my mind. The Hobbit being a mess had a lot of studio meddling fingerprints on it, and it seems like there is a cash grab going on after Christopher Tolkien’s passing.

Hmm, audiobooks solve this problem for me since I can kinda let it happen while driving or doing absent minded chores.

I can definitely understand that being a turnoff. There is an aspect to this reread where I am questioning a bit as to how much I actually like the books themselves, versus the idea of them I had in my head after reading so many fan theories and such.

I’m rereading (listening) to A Song of Ice and Fire series, currently in the early part of Storm of Swords. I really fell down the theory rabbit hole in the last couple years and finally decided to reread them all after bouncing off a couple of unrelated nonfiction books I had been struggling through.
