It’s too late for some of the Linux Lemmys. lol

I mean current version really doesn’t mean anything because people aren’t going to upgrade if the version they’re using is fine. I submit that this is a perfect example of correlation != causation. I may have gotten the order wrong on the not equal symbology since I haven’t used it in a while.
Also, are we talking Linux kernal versions? There are so many problems with this comparison.
You joke, but Google does not take hardware as seriously as they should. I say this as an owner of a Pixel 7. I actually really like the hardware, but the simplicity and clean look of the software is why I actually love the phone. I have to baby the phone because I know Google doesn’t actually care even if they swear up and down they do.
That just sounds like a 40k character. WTF.
I mean, I can see it if it was used as a backup, but yeah, using it as a primary way of communicating with people is kind of weird.
What a shame.
I hate when I accidentally “communicate with enemy state like north korea, syria, iraq, iran” .
Weird, maybe it’s just glitched on my tablet. I’ll have to try clearing the cache and reinstalling.
So speaking of that, it seems like you have to pay per device. I payed for ultra on my phone, but it doesn’t seem to carry over to my tablet.
Mine screams outside the door if I close it.
The only thing I have to say is I couldn’t get away from Samsung fast enough. The bloat is just ridiculous (like do I really need two voice assistants that I can’t uninstall AND two stores for apps?), the UI is an abomination, and the camera processing always made my eyes bleed. As someone who dabbles in photography I hate that the camera prioritizes being vivid over all else. Probably the only good thing I can say about them is the build quality is great.
While technically it is, it mostly depends on whether you use Google products. I use some of them, but not all of them so the ones I don’t use I still consider bloat personally. Regardless of how I feel about it though anything pre-installed that you can’t uninstall is bloat and Samsung, in my experience, is the fucking worst I’ve used.
Here’s the thing, while I don’t think Nazi views should be supported this is a general instance and as such there are going to be a lot of shitty people here, Nazi’s included. The strength of the fediverse is that we can make our own instance “with blackjack and hookers” so to speak. There are already instances, in fact, that are a lot more strict in who they allow. Again, this is not a support for these views as I don’t support hate for anyone. It’s the paradox of tolerance dictates that the intolerant will eventually take over, which is why we cannot be tolerant of fascism, hate, Nazi’s, etc.
The stupid amount of bloat I couldn’t uninstall is the reason I stopped using Samsung phones. Sure they are popular and decently priced, but Samsung is really showing how much they don’t care about the user experience since they are on top.
I wouldn’t quite go so far as to say it’s gone “mainstream” since you still have to be moderately nerdy to know about it. I get your point though. This is one of the reasons I am so happy the Steam Deck exists. Before Valve released the Steam Deck nobody wanted to make games for Linux, so Valve said “fuck it, we’ll do it ourselves” and proved it was not only possible, but a better experience overall. While not all games work, having 78-80% of your game library work on Linux, with no Windows OS performance tax, is a great experience. Even with the Proton compatibility layer games generally run faster than on Windows.
