I became an atheist when I was about 9 years old. I didn’t tell anyone in my family until I was over 50 years old. I still keep it quiet in mixed company. I am damned lucky I was able to find a partner who was raised an atheist.

This is stupid, but I thought I’d invented a shape of cup bottom that wouldn’t accumulate water in the dishwasher, but that was still stable while standing upright. Found an existing patent for my exact design after working on it for months.

I used to hear a man’s voice in my head. Clear as day, like he was standing next to me. He’d say things to warn me, like “slow down” right before I tripped and broke my arm.
