It sounds to me like you’re a good person. The people they’re talking about are the ones who may have stopped hating, say, gay people – but who have redirected their bigotry toward other marginalized groups like trans people or Palestinians.

In my opinion, there’s effectively no such thing as a good or bad person – it’s the words and actions that count. No matter what you’ve done in the past, that’s over now.

This! One of the most disgusting trends I’ve seen are people misappropriating queer symbology to try to queerwash their genocide of Palestinians. They don’t care about us anymore than they care about the children they’re murdering.

This has been my experience as well. I feel this every time I have something social planned, and even moreso when depressed.

I can be totally aware of what I need to do to feel better, and still get hung up on that first damn step. The psychological struggle is real.

Also related, I’m actually in a conversation with a discord friend right now about how hard it is to feel connected to something as we get older. It’s still possible, but it takes a concerted effort. Add things like depression and exhaustion to the mix, and you’ve got the ingredients for a downward spiral.

There are so many people out there who I’d love to give a big mental hug. So many people hurting.

Knitting is super fun. I used to do it every day until I started my masters. I keep thinking I should restart this hobby. As long as you don’t buy ridiculously premium yarns, it’s super cheap too. I used to find boxes of yarn at yard sales or thrift stores.

I’ll check, but I’m pretty sure they’re still there. I think you can get a lawyer to have it expunged, but I don’t think it just drops off on its own.

Even misdemeanors can be hard. I know I’ve been turned down for jobs based on my two arrests for disorderly conduct years ago. They’re not felonies, but they show up in a background check.

I have, unfortunately. The web site gives me obtrusive indismissable popups sometimes (in Firefox with uBO), and I’ve seen promotions within the Proton VPN app itself, which is something other Unlimited subscribers have experienced as well, though not all of us, for some confusing reason.
