Using things outside of their intended purposes. I live in a gated community with my folks. Our house borders an apartment complex community, the border is a fence followed by a hedge in our backyard. We have several fruit trees in our backyard including avocados and mangoes. During fruiting season, avocados will drop and fall over the fence. My mom uses a pvc pipe with a kitchen knife taped to one end to use as a spear to retrieve avocados over the fence on the other community’s side. 5+ kitchen knives have been broken by doing this. I recently bought a 30ft fruit picker to collect fruit before they drop, so hopefully that helps to alleviate the problem.

If it weren’t for my parents I couldn’t afford to live in this state as I live with them. Even as a homeowner, my mom is finding it hard to cope as homeowners insurance rates keep rising and the crisis is deepening as more insurers leave the state or stop offering new policies. I financed a used car back in 2022 for $8,500. I don’t think I’ll ever own a home here, not that I’d want to anyway, and as for cars I’m better off buying cheap and used.

Yeah, I work in a warehouse. It’s pretty dusty in there. I don’t want all of the dirt and grime to end up in my bed.

I live in Florida. I shower once a day in the evenings.

It was good. I’m hoping that my workplace doesn’t go out of business, I joined just a few months ago and I like working there. I’m also hoping that my home life improves, but that’s unlikely. My birthday is later this week on Friday, my mom wants to take me to Golden Corral, I hope we can have a good time as a family.

Reddit killing off 3rd party apps. Also Lemmy feels more free as I don’t need a set amount of karma to be able to submit a post or comment. I had a lurker account on Reddit that was verified and everything, but there were times when I wanted to post and when I did only I could see my comment.

It didn’t immediately click with me when I joined that ML meant Marxist Leninist even I used to be one.

I prefer Lemmy, it’s a smaller community and I like the fact that you don’t need karma to make a comment or post. I still lurk Reddit every now and then, but only for information about my interests, I don’t comment or post.
