Lmao the thought of a rogue yoinking a wizards component pouch and neutering a difficult encounter is so good it would be allowed at my table! But only once…

I’d recommend learning SketchUp or TinkerCad or something similar to make your own plans because part of the beauty of making your own furniture is it can be exactly the way you want it to be. However, that kind of software can be intimidating if you’ve never had exposure to it.
So, the next best thing I would recommend would be to find a video on YouTube of someone building a bed, these makers sometimes have links to the plans they used to build it. There are a lot of bed builds on YouTube and they might even give you some ideas you’d like to incorporate into your own design.
Fantastic photos, you have a very hands-on (paws-on?) foreman lol. Thank you for the detailed description. I’ve seen a similar method on a Bourbon Moth video except I think he used his domino to make slots instead of cutting a groove, but I guess if I payed that much for a funky router I’d use it all the time too.
Looks great, excellent job! Just out of curiosity how did you attach the top to the base?
Who the hell is still watching cam rips?
Absolute poetry.
Of course they cheated on a take home exam. If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.
Proctor your exams if you don’t want them to be able to utilize any of the resources at their disposal. Making them do it again in front of you sounds like bullshit imo, but I am certainly not an academic.
You don’t really get your file in any particular order when you torrent. So I’m pretty sure this isn’t possible.
Thank you for the extra info! Im going to start researching more about how to actually use my slicer and tune those profiles.
Thank you for the detailed explanation! I actually was unaware that Cura was doing that much work in the background, it’s still just a magic math box that spits out gcode in my mind. I’ll start learning more about my slicer instead of endlessly scrolling thingiverse. Thanks again!
Ah! Thank you for the explanation! I will mess around with the slicer previews more, I was actually unaware you could see the speed changes in the preview. I’ve mostly only used it to make sure the printer wasn’t going to try and print in mid air because I dislike printing supports if I don’t have to.
Thanks for the link, friend! At a quick glance it seems over my head but I may try monkeying with this later.
Pardon my ignorance but is this something I can just download and use immediately, or do you have to open it in something special and monkey with it to get it to work?
Google local print shops in your area, they should be able to do it cheaper than that.
Go watch Tommy Wiseau’s The Room and then we can talk about bad movies.
I am thoroughly impressed by your ingenuity! I’m assuming that its a fairly manual process with this setup, where you run several jobs all the way around the bowl while rotating the bowl in between jobs? Probably not as convenient as a set it and forget it machine but after a quick Google I see that the cost savings are SIGNIFICANT.
Excellent work my friend, thanks for sharing a picture of your setup.
Absolutely gorgeous work, you nailed it with this one.
Just out of curiosity, what laser do you have? I actually didn’t even know they made lasers that could engrave bowls like this until I started seeing your work here, and you certainly put it to excellent use.
There was a contest for project submissions to be chosen as the sublemmy photo that took place in October. Hence the coffin. I reckon it was supposed to be a semi regular contest but ya know… Life.
You could make a post calling for a new contest, I think that would be cool. I was meaning to participate in the next one anyway.
