I’m well aware of how it works.
I’m well aware of how it works.
I don’t think anyone’s giving corpos credit, just acknowledging that public opinion has swayed to the point that corpos show pride because it’s profitable for them to do so.
public utilities aren’t privately owned
What a weird sentence.
Pretty sure they C&D or whatever, so you have to modify the content before using it on another website.
we like it thic
Works surprisingly well even after all this time. I often forget its been removed.
Nebula
Because that would just be another ad lol
Colour me surprised, at least you greybeards have honour enough to spell some words correct.
Double the wear n tear on the car, double the wear n tear on roads, double the traffic. yipeeeeee
Autonomous cars really will be a fucking nightmare for traffic and I don’t think people understand this. Traffic is one of the biggest reducers of car trips, it’s why induced demand is a thing. People avoid trips if they don’t want to deal with the traffic and people pay for expensive parking to avoid driving around looking for a cheap spot.
Autonomous cars would enable so many trips that would otherwise be avoided. Don’t want to look for parking? Your car will do it. Don’t want to sit in traffic for 30 mins to get to the grocery store? You can watch youtube while your car drives you. Don’t want to take your kid to a friends house? The car will drive them.
EVs are not going to solve climate change and autonomous cars are not going to fix traffic. These problems are only solved by reducing car dependency and the faster people suck it up and accept that the faster we actually start working on solutions instead of tech bro nonsense that only solves the problem of how to concentrate even more wealth in the 0.1%.
To be fair to OP, they really should’ve stopped advertising this as a feature years ago. It’d be like if sliced bread was still advertised as “Now sliced for your convenience!” or whatever.
Drones are loud as fuck and have a host of other issues. People will fucking riot if they have to start listening to drones fly around all day.
An eco friendly option that actually makes sense is cargo bikes. Even land based drone delivery makes more sense than flying drones. This shit is probably never happening.
I miss shittymorph.
AFAIK no, audiophiles can be very opinionated though. Definitely do your own research cause I’m a noob.
Vinyls are analog, which means they (more or less) directly convert imprint the waveforms of the recording onto the physical vinyl. In theory, this should create the best quality recording, but in practice physics gets in the way and it will not sound exactly the same. Digital on the other hand converts the analog waves into digital ones and zeros and most digital music is heavily compressed meaning it uses maths to approximate the original recording. However, lossless digital formats (FLAC) exist which theoretically lose no information from the original recording.
I’m not sure it’s possible to compare digital/analog quality but I would guess that you would get better sound quality from a vinyl than say Spotify, but better quality from a lossless file than vinyl.
In my non-expert experience, by the time you get to lossless/vinyl quality you are far more restricted by your audio equipment than by the format, and only experts would be able to tell a difference in quality.
Interesting. My local transit has ads listing a number to text for help. As far as I know the number goes straight to the transit police force and not the cops and I always thought it was a good thing to reassure people (especially women traveling at night) that they can text the number if they feel unsafe and someone will be there to help them.
Would you consider this the same/a bad thing?
FYI I am pretty anti-police.
Discombobulate
“stop crime” ads make people more afraid and make the police state worse
Can you explain this for me?
At least compared to Signal
Please enlighten me
