  • There is a single aspect in which the Switch remains superior: Simplicity. Sure, you could take the time once to set up Yuzu and your Switch games and be rewarded with superior performance.

But the technically less experienced user might be put off by the fact that you can‘t just plonk in the game and play it. That‘s however not exclusive to the Switch.

I tried downloading Switch games from uuuuh… rather bespoke sites and they had a rather uuuuh… curious idea of what ads you could throw into the users face. Vivaldi‘s integrated adblocker simply couldn‘t handle those sites. That discouraged me from downloading games for now. Luckily MIG-Dumper is there to save the day and allow me to back up my games to later play them in Yuzu.

  • The EU is (finally) coming for Apple‘s ass. So Sideloading might finally become a thing on iOS.

Until then we have Signulous to sign our apps for Sideloading. There are also other options but those require a PC nearby so up to three apps can be signed for 7 days at a time.

Also tell me how Apple and Apple users have ruined Android. I‘ve been using Android phones since Android 2.1 and switched to an iPhone recently solely because my company gifted me an iPhone 14 Pro Max. And through all those years i didn‘t notice Apple or Apple users ruining Android.

  • WEI checks your browser, your extensions and your OS to ensure that a site is not tampered with. Officially it’s to make sure that sites don’t have to deal as much with bots.

Too bad that many of us use adblockers to protect us from malicious ads or remove ads to make a website bearable. Google also happens to distribute ads which makes the fact that adblockers likely won’t work anymore a very concenient coincidence they totally didn’t have in mind.

It’s also possible that non-Chromium browsers (for example Firefox) will stop working due to them either not supporting WEI or not being considered legitimate by whoever will do the checks.
