Nono, it definitely gets worse, behold the two conjoined twins into a single fat entity…
Go to elections with this and you got my vote!
Proton is very gaming on Linux friendly, i main on Linux for a few decades now and had about 3-4 games not work. So i wouldn’t worry about that, however lightroom (and i assume the rest of adobe suit) is out. Couldn’t find a way to install it sensibly at all. Which is unfortunate. The backup for this for me was to use an old android tablet and sometimes id use the work mac out of hours to do some post-processing.
But the rest doesn’t matter much, i personally like Manjaro but the distro doesn’t really matter.
Don’t worry, if you got even a quarter as much experience as you say, your job is safe or you can find another not working for an idiotic company that would invest into ai instead of engineers, let them fail.
Anyway have a look what ai can do for you and see just how secure your job is. Pointless worry

If you don’t want to be called there to always it support it, go for off the shelf solution. Both qnap and Synology offer the same. When i looked half a year ago, i saw Synology as being more expensive at the time so went with ts464 qnap.
Qnap do provide a roadmap of support for older devices. So you have an idea how long they will remain supported for.
Yes
Personally i use Isp network - ISP router - cable - my own router wifi + cable
So ISP router only does wired communication and my own router handles all internal devices as well as wifi. That way you get more control at the cost of slightly more electricity.
Its better, worth more
Surely thats how this void was found in the first place with external measurements. As to why probably struxtural damage and potentially a cavein?
Perfectly adequate retort to a vague accusation… /s
