Pretty soon you won’t be allowed to use a tv to watch stuff that isn’t state approved media from a state approved source. I had an airbnb once that was set up in such a way that you could sign in to any streaming service you wanted but hdmi was blocked. I doubt the owner intentionally did that but it’s scary to actually see this type of shit firsthand.

My 2 cents is that you usually need an unlocked bootloader so you can load xposed and get privacy apps that spoof or block certain permissions per app. That is the unconditional indispensable killer feature for me. Sure, using this stuff isn’t 100% bulletproof but I’m at the very least making my information more expensive to harvest and at most making it so that governments and corporations have to hire actual/better hackers to steal my info.
FreeCAD definitely does look like a good option. I followed a tutorial the other day and was able to do some cool stuff with it. Autodesk can definitely go to hell but if I find FreeCAD is suitable for the hobby stuff I do, then I’m using it.

Android ftp apps never work. It’s also a huge pain and borderline impossible on some distros to get mtp over usb cable to work and even when it does work it barely works. Most phones don’t have an sdcard slot so you can’t go that route either. And I’m definitely not using Google drive because they’ve on purpose tried to make it impossible to go any route other than that and fuck Google.
My solution? I made a php page with a file upload so I have to upload my files via php. It’s the only way. It’s still easier than using the USB cable if it actually worked though. Luckily there’s no way Google will ever find a way to patch this out.
Transferring files to the phone involves using the same upload button just from a pc and then I download them from the “view uploaded files” button which is a page that autogenerates download links to a page.
Oh, I’m sure they’ll charge a minimum of $2k/month even for the shittiest of the shithole office apartments. They’ll get their money don’t worry.
A lot of people do though. That’s the problem. Most people just browse Facebook and watch YouTube. Anyone doing other stuff is “a hacker”
Remember, everyone: companies work hard to prevent “unauthorized access” to their devices. This does not mean no one can get into your stuff. It means no one can get into your stuff without paying the manufacturer money first.

It might if you can get the correct edxposed modules loaded and working. You’d almost certainly have to have a phone with an unlocked bootloader and that’s usually so difficult that installing a reputable privacy conscious rom like LineageOS isn’t even that much more work by comparison. Things have gotten stupider and harder since the golden days of smartphone modding. I for one won’t have a personal smartphone anymore once they get rid of hacks like this once and for all.
I understand the majority of smartphone users can’t do this which sucks, but I use a custom rom so I can load xprivacy via exposed modules. This goes for all app developers but if you want to profit off of my pii, you gotta hire better/actual hackers which hurts bottom line. Downvotes to the left.

Gigabyte apparently. They have drivers on their website. Windows 11 just wanted to be extremely picky about the storage device I used. There was probably a cd with drivers in the motherboard box but who tf has a cd drive these days? Just formatting ntfs on any flash drive is apparently not good enough. Also, no matter which version of the drivers I used, unchecking “hide incompatible drivers” was the only way to make anything ever show up. I’m 100% sure I was using the correct ones for the exact motherboard model and revision number.
It worked fine on Arch. I finally found a flash drive and filesystem combination that the windows installer would both see and install when I put the manufacturer’s Windows 11 64 bit ahci drivers on. It was a scandisk usb 3.0 mini thumb drive and ntfs in case anyone was wondering. I have 7 other usb flash drives at my disposal, most of them I could see but not install the drivers and I tried ntfs, exfat and fat32 before giving up on each flash drive.
