The size of fires is really the staggering figure with 13.75 million hectares (137,500 km² roughly the size of Arkansas or Greece) burned so far, while the average annual total burned area is usually only 2.1 million hectares.

If I had a group to play heavier wargames with, this would certainly be high on my anticipated list. I trust Jay Carmichael’s opinion on game mechanics & assessment, ability to edit things, and is generally good at entertainment, so I don’t doubt his game designing capabilities (coupled with an expert publishing team). Also the theme is my jam.

For me and my group, I’ll keep to the lighter Cry Havoc and Nexus Ops for this gaming itch. Who knows, maybe at a convention I’ll try out Red Dust Rebellion.
