As another poster said, we used words like pr0n, and one that I personally have never used either of that replaces the “er” ending of a word with “a.”

Hell, half of the time we used l33tsp33k was to avoid using specific words.

Sorry I meant Blocking; if you make a post, it will (visually) show replies on it. However you don’t get any toast notifications, and you can’t see the message itself. Also if they reply to a comment in something you’ve posted, you’ll see a ‘see more replies’ or something on it, but it won’t actually open.

I can see that they’ve commented, but not what, and I can see if there are no responses to their comment. Occasionally my posts get comment counts on them, but I don’t see the message, and people aren’t responding to them either (or it would show more messages). It’s great.

My lemmy experience was immeasurably improved when I muted that wave of misogynists who came to lemmy recently. It’s far superior to just see them screaming into a void, rather than disproving their garbage over and over again.

The current government is trying to add things fairly quickly, the absentee owner law is in effect, and they did just add another 20% ‘flipper’ tax. As mentioned though, people still own way too many houses. My current landlord owns 7.

For anyone panicking, this is exactly like what happened with the transition from ICQ to AOL messenger, from MySpace to Facebook, from 9gag/etc to Reddit, and so on.

Website makes a mistake, some people leave. Makes another, more leave. Each time this happens, more ‘main’ people of said website leave. Hell, I already saw PoppinKREAM here, so that’s a great start.

So this is exactly how it always goes. The fact it is still here means it’s staying. Look at Threads, or Metaverse, whatever those things are. All dying or dead, barely lasted. Lemmy is still here, people are still posting, so just keep doing what you’re doing. It’s already working.

This is an incredibly narrow view of people, and what ‘obvious’ is. This sentence is absolutely awful if you’re ESL in any way:

Even I stumbled for a second on that sentence. What the hell does ‘appear warmer’ mean? Colour, hue, saturation, is there a temperature reading on them? It can snow at zero degrees, but that middle image could be -20 for all we know; it’s in shadow and the only non-cool-colour in it is that orange rectangle.

I mean, to me, it’s obvious that you add an apostrophe to ‘don’t’ but you didn’t. Your sentence also doesn’t end with a period. Does that mean I get to call you out for missing such an ‘obvious’ thing, and insult you for not doing it? You know, how obvious and dead simple writing your sentence correctly would be.

Pretty sure it was because of the ‘trying to be politically correct’ comment.
