I’m not usually one to complain about refs or (un)called fouls, but this game is ridiculous.

Ronaldo gets his shirt obviously yanked and held for several second in penalty area? Yellow for Ronaldo, because he complained. No VAR.

Holding in the middle of the field against Georgia? Yellow for Portugal.

Light foot touch against Georgia in Portugal’s penalty box? VAR; pen for Georgia.

At the end of the day it’s a just game and it’s meant to be fun, but this just takes away all the fun from the game.

Watching Portugal play is always so frustrating. It doesn’t matter how good you are if you can’t score; all the other teams need is one good chance and we are immediately in hot water.

Damn, that sucks. One of the Turkish players fell on his face though, which was funny.

I was just thinking to myself “why would you shoot from there with so many teammates around”, and then it just went in.

When I studied Computer Engineering, I met several other students who had a lot of trouble using the Windows file system, and navigating a file system through a terminal was a Herculean task for them.

Most people growing up now, and since over a decade ago, are only tech savvy in the sense they know how to use smartphones, tablets, and social media; none of those require any understanding of file systems, and even using desktops doesn’t really require it that much for most people.

Assuming that an overweight person must eat meat is a logical fallacy.

I wasn’t assuming that.

You’re hyper focusing on one detail and missing the forest for the trees.

Premise 1: The vast majority of people eat meat

Premise 2: The majority of people are overweight

Conclusion: A very large portion of the population can stand to eat less meat.

Add in that some meat (beef) is a lot more caloric than anything green, and the likelihood of an overweight person being a vegan is quite small (which doesn’t mean there aren’t cases of it), and so the number of people who can stand to eat less meat also grows higher.

I’m not trying to shame people for being overweight, I struggled with it for a long time myself, I’m simply pointing out that the majority of people can definitely afford - both money and health wise - to eat less meat than they do.

I’m gonna remember this thread for the next time everyone starts going on about how:

“The average person is doing the best they can! Climate change is all the government’s and corporation’s fault, we literally can’t do anything!”

Meanwhile, a post on a vegan community got several people to go out of their way to talk about how cool they are for eating meat. And they got upvoted for it too!

Reminder that:

• meat production is one of the largest producers of CO2 (beef is the biggest, and pork after that)

• most greens are cheaper than meat, pretty much everywhere

• the average person in a western country is typically overweight
