Agreed. I had more empathy for tipping workers at self-service / carryout settings during the height of the pandemic (which is not over BTW). Now… Given that management has programmed these registers I find myself grudgingly tipping since I have to wonder if management has started paying them even more inadequately in anticipation of tipping.

I have somewhat magically decided I tip 10% at these things as there is no real guidance anymore. 20% for table service. Delivery… 15-20%?

Of course someone will come along saying to tip 0% to hold the line and force fair wages. I have some understanding of that argument too.

I often match maroon ink to maroon pen. Otherwise, I do it less often than I used to as I’m mainly using permanent inks now (not as many available colors).

Lamy 2000 is a great pen that people either love or hate. So you will get many recommendations for it. Try it out first. I hate it, but respect people who like it. Try out a Ranga #3 pen with a Franklin Christoph nib.

I hate them. My wife has 3 or 4 of them for different colors and loves them.

It is true I let it sit too long between uses. 😣

Ranga pens are great. Ranga nibs are good enough, but get one without a nib and get a Franklin Christoph nib instead.

I also love Diamine Oxblood and the Iroshizuko inks. Lately I have needed permanent inks, so I have been using De Atramentis Document Inks.

I like this pen too but I find it tends to dry out on me too quickly. It is certainly worth buying.

My workhorse pen tends to be a Ranga #3 (#5?) ebonite pen with a Franklin Christoph nib.
