But being high make them incredibly dangerous for other road users. If a normal car hits you, you break your leg, it sucks, but within a month you’d walk on crutches and within 6 month you’d be fine. A SUV hitting a pedestrian or a cyclist will break their pelvis or even their back which has a harder recovery and long lasting consequences.
These stuff should be banned
CVs are supposed to be at least 2-3 pages
Where is it the case ? I always heard CV are expected to be kept short, and stay on one page unless you’re one of these senior experts with a crazy experience. A young graduate sending a 2-3 page CV sounds at minimum pretentious and would go direct to the garbage.
Now, it seems that “Not being able to find a job” is a great reason to pursue further education.
Something worth repeating is that transistors are a direct application of quantum mechanics. Quantum physics isn’t a metaphysical thing about half dead cats and working only on a few ultra cold atoms. If you want to explain how a piece of silicium can be conductive or insulating depending on it’s polarisation you need… Quantum physics.
Is coralline supposed to be “kid friendly”? It’s one of the few books I wasn’t comfortable reading in alone in the dark, no way I let a kid read that
The minimum threshold is tricky. Sometimes due to alliance or political dynamic, a party/list struggle to reach 5%. But banning them from running again seems aggressive. An election even lost without any seat nor a public payment of the campaign fee, is a chance for a party to be heard and put back some issues in the debate. Look at the green who often do low score, but sometimes manage to win
Renters rights legislation with enough teeth to make present and perspective landlords, both corporate and individual, think twice before not taking care of a property as though they lived there? (
Isn’t it mostly an issue on the US side of the pond (and in other third worlds countries). I believe that most European countries have minimum standards regarding renter right, it’s not perfect (and reality is that changing a furnace takes weeks). But every time I read about US feel likes dystopia.
I am talking about having sunlight up to 22-23 in the evening, Unfortunately, I don’t live anymore in a place with many days above 40. (Which to be fair are great as a kid when you spend the afternoon chilling near the river, but sucks when you’re adult and stuck in an office)
Summer
No need for rain-clothe, or warm clothe
Outdoor activities are possible without damaging the gear due to the humidity, and if you like water even outdoor swim became possible
Having sunlight up to 22 or even 23 is pretty great, you can have a late dinner outdoor, or get some beers in the parks with your friends. It’s also safer to come back home, especially if you ride a bicycle or are a woman.
Many people are in holidays, so things are quieter
Forgot that simple trick to get maps :). But actually when I use rpg maps, it’s digital and printed and in general not bought (either found online or done)
Best season, weather is nice enough so Ican enjoy outdoor activities.
The last summer before the “brexit” I went to scotland, one of the classic hike there is going atop the Ben nevis mountain. Even though in summer it’s not a complicated hike, I still bought a paper map to not be yet another tourist lost in the mist, I have a limited trust in mobile phone map in outdoor activity, especially when the weather isn’t optimal.
Question was triggered as I stumbled open that map when sorting some stuff on my bookshelves.
As much as I find the idea great. The killer feature of TikTok is how easy it is to publish a video with filters and musics. Not sure how well a federated application can follow. Then, there is TikTok algorithm which is a common critic of the app but is how you get a never-ending flow of content which isn’t uninteresting enough for you to turn the app off
As in, is any law that restricts people’s freedom to do something
The problem of this approach is that in that case you refuse any law. Even anarchist would agree that a stateless society need people to agree on common rules.
Speed limit ? restrict your freedom to do something, private property ? Restrict your freedom to go where you want, does restricting your freedom to commit murder feels authoritarian ?
Now what’s more authoritarian ? having the state protecing your right to have slave ? Or having the state protecting people freedom by not letting someone enslave them.
I see Stupeflip, get my upvote Not sure it’ll please the non Francophones but who cares Stupeflip, le C.R.O.U Un truc qui fracasse la tête à base de caisse claire qui claque, and the english language ending give me a fucking greek sandwich with fucking onion sounds most french than the french sung part.
And some Banjo metal because yes, they can
Have you checked Nanowar (of steel) which is parodic metal ?

Take your time, slow and steady is faster than quick and dirty
In general, I like the vibe here, which is more laid back and relax than reddit, with people being in general nicer, less in a karma farming/troll mode.
I have an alt account on fedia (mbin) that I use when my main instance is down, following the same communities. But the more I use it, the nicer I find mbin, I might do a full switch at a point.
However, it’s not yet the endless stream of new content we get on reddit and other big social media. Which is great for our mental health but sucks when you look for a fun stuff to do during your commute
A few years ago already, I started to have more stories about I’ve done that cool stuff, rather than I hope to do that cool stuff
To be fair, I had the honour to spend some time in a south American observatory and it offers a shit ton of “cool stories”
Get a teacher, it really helps. My teacher has small group class, which IMO are the best bang for your bucks, 2-3 students make the class cheaper than one while letting you time to play. Then as intermediate you can have bob plays the chords and Alice the melody which is great.
With 2 weeks of self practices, don’t expect to play anything properly. It’s called being a beginner, it’s normal. At your level focus on switching open chords with a metronome (slow, like 40 bpm)
Easiest song I know would be come as you are by nirvana, usually the first new guitarists learn. Then here comes your man by pixies may be achievable(ospecially if you can play chords) then anything pop punk (the offspring) is super si le but may be fun r next year
