Super fast shave before the pie social at Church tonight. Tomorrow I’ll give myself a good luxurious three pass shave with a carefully prepared lather. Today I just had to rip the hair off my face in short order.
I just wish the handle was nicer… so I transplanted my knot after AA 2023
Saturday Night.
This was a late evening shave. I had yet again gotten to the point the scruff on my throat was irritating me to the point I wouldn’t be able to sleep. I am constantly amazed at how well the budget friendly Omega Pro-48 Boar brush lathers. The Barrister’s Reserve Fern isn’t a soap I use often, but for late night shaves I tend to grab something pretty neutral smelling as to avoid angering my wife.
It’s been kind of a wild year.

This was my first open blade shave in over a year. I’m honestly surprised I’m not bleeding right now. All in all it was an awkward shave, but the products worked exactly as they should have. My technique leaves a lot to be desired.
Lazy doesn’t appear to be loading the plugin, although it’s installed. Perhaps I’m doing something daft?

I blind purchased mine at SMS’s suggestion, and don’t regret it at all. I borrowed a Blackland Blackbird after AA 2023 and knew I had to have one. I’ve shaved with virtually nothing else since. The GC is different, and I’m glad I used it again.
I hadn’t shaved for maybe 2 or 3 weeks. The scruff under my chin was actually starting to irritate me to the point I was having a hard time falling asleep. So I put a fresh blade in the Game Changer and in two passes feel like a new man. This is my first shave using something other than my Stainless Blackland Blackbird in a hell of a long time. The GC really does punch well above it’s weight.
Wait… did someone say… Neovim… and SoTD in the same sentence!!!

This is the third time I’ve done a two pass shave with the Weck, and have avoided bleeding. I’ll take that as a win.

Super happy to have the GC back. While Blades Grim as a company is questionable I still love the way this soap smells. It’s like toasted marshmallows, and it makes a good lather. This was an amazing shave. 10 of 10 would highly recommend.

In all this was a pretty good shave. I spent a bunch more soap, and time making lather than in previous shaves and ended up with a much thicker lather. I’m also getting better with the Weck, as this is the second time I’ve done both a North to South, and South to North shave with it, and remained nick free.
nice. My initial attempts to interact with the Lemmy instance with golang wasn’t super successful.

What can I say, this was a simple evening (00:10 am) shave. The Stirling has more blade feel than any other safety razor I own, but I wouldn’t call it extreme. It’s my travel razor, and since I’m going to be traveling next week I thought I’d take it for a spin and make sure I’m all good.

If I’m honest I completely screwed the pooch with the lather on this shave. I loaded a ton of soap into the Moar Boar, and then put too much water into it completely ruining the nice thick lather that was forming.
I powered through anyway, and managed to shave with the weck, while keeping all the blood on the inside, so I’ll call it a win anyway.
I have a G-Bar. I think I’ve used it maybe twice. I don’t think I understand how to use it as I’ve not enjoyed either of the shaves I’ve done. Have any tips for me?
