Easy, GNU->GUN
Oh and try blocks.
Its mainly a matter of stabilizing existing features in the language - there are rust modules in the linux kernel as of 6.1 but they have to be compiled with the nightly compiler.
Rust is a very slow moving , get it right the first time esque, project. Important and relatively fundamental stuff is currently and has been useable and 99% unchanging for years but hasnt been included in the mainline compiler.
Also certain libraries would be fantastic to have integrated into the standard library, like tokio, anyhow, thiserror, crossbeam, rayon, and serde. If that ever happens though itll be in like a decade.
For what its worth browsing directories full of hundreds to thousands of 4k images with previews is seamless : )
grub menu. all my timeshift snapshots show up there. for /home i just backup to a usb with deja dup.
Btrfs snapshots have saved my ass a few times with bad updates.
how fast is it?
definitely not lol. Its my daily driver pc. I just have a spare drive and an empty slot.
its neat, u can get 4k 240hz out of the usb4 output. Lm sensors didnt pick up the cpu temps. It’s VERY quiet, and the drives have an active heat sink on em. The nvme drive runs at around 40C.
I mean, windows is so…
Whats that do?
Yeah but you cant really obfuscate your message destination and timing without using onion routing, and really thats just making it more expensive to compromise and run. That said other things here do make it seem like a honeypot…
Its fully open source though, even the server. Might not be that hard to fork it and let people host their own servers.
also nvme drives get HOT, and sticking em together in an enclosure with no heatsink or fan would probably have thermal throttle under load.
My experince :
Tbh motherboard matters. Updating my msi motherboard actually fixed a major issue for me preventing grub from letting me select what OS to load on boot.
I installed linux mint and did have to do a bit of tinkering to get my audio to work from the front panel too. Found answers in the mint forums.
Other than that my discord streams have no audio and discords screen capture daemon or whatever keeps the computer from shutting down for like a minute after i try to.
Those are the only issues Ive had though.
As for lack of features, no HDR sucks, but other than that I’m good.
Warpinator is nice for syncing files with my phone.
Also enjoying the simpler feel compared to windows, and no ads.
yeah ive had one that as strict about it before … they can be used as tiny wireless remote recording devices , so in places where secrecy is important Bluetooth is no good.
Also hackers have demonstrated the ability to gain remote access to a device through overpowering a bluetooth signal from as far as a kilometer away using a radio apparently.
games suck with bluetooth headphones due to latency, many workplaces outright ban even carrying them, and you cant charge and use wired at the same time without at least 2 ports. Some wired headphones are cheap, like 5 bucks even. Also you need to charge BT headphones, and some people have expensive 300 dollar plus headphones that are made obselete by not having a headphone jack.
A modern electric compact truck like the 1992 gmc sonoma.

A fairphone with the specs of the ROG phone, or just a repairable rog phone.
a 4k 240hz oled monitor
LFP phone batteries.
SteamOS is debian based right? does that mean LMDE will benefit from valve’s commits in some ways mint wouldnt have otherwise?
Copyright =/= liscence, so long as they arent reproducing the inputs copyright isnt applicable to AI.
That said they should have to make sure they arent reproducing inputs. Shouldnt be hard.
