Some concerns… Providing housing is a position of power, and inviting a relative stranger into your home requires trust. While I firmly believe that most folks are well-intentioned, the possibility of abuse is there.

(Sec+ and/or Net+ are in high demand in the DoD-IT world Edit: at least, for entry level. Experience goes further but those are bare minimums for a lot of stuff)
Those are minimums for 8570 compliance. They’re in demand because you’re required within 6 months of hire to have and regularly recertify for a cert at your required level.
I fell out of watching Contrapoints when it went from 15-20 minute videos to extended length films.
The deciding factor for me is based on actions and involvement. Like “I was a member of or gave material support to hate groups and openly harrassed minorities.” is a totally different conversation than “I got suckered into having some shitty private opinions for awhile.”
But I’m also disturbed by how many people play this down as some common trans backstory.
I bought physical copies of this as they were released.
I have a guild named “Friends of Blahaj” in Guildwars 2.
I would suggest you look into mentoring programs. I feel like covertly outing someone is not going to be well received, even if your intentions are good. Before you get into anything though, address your feelings of being disconnected from the community.
I have had far more positive interactions than negative ones. In 10 years, I’ve never been physically assaulted or directly insulted or threatened in public. While transphobia is pernicious in society, it doesn’t often present explosively. Far more people are uninformed or misinformed rather than actively hostile.
Yep, I’d agree that overall, this is a good thing, and I maybe came off a bit more negative than I’d meant.
