The real question is if they have sugar in their porridge.

Yeah, I think the power trip of moderating some subreddit with millions of members is very seductive. Sadly, it seems very seductive to exactly the people I would not want moderating, but I’m sure ousting conscientious moderators for puppet dictators will alleviate this situation in the future of Reddit.
Right? RIGHT?!
Yep, I’ve already requested that, and when it arrives I’ll likely build something to do it manually if they don’t comply properly with my request to be forgotten. I’d take them to court over it, but meh, I don’t have the energy.
Yep, and we kinda get that same sort of dopamine hit here, just not the global karma, because there is no central place to collect global points!
Are you questioning The Party, comorade?
I’ll be filing a GDPR right-to-be-forgotten request, so Reddit has to do it for me.
You accidentally shared the save link, not the actual archive link. https://web.archive.org/web/20230612055520/https://old.reddit.com/r/help/comments/135tly1/helpdid_reddit_just_destroy_mobile_browser_access/jim40zg/
My reaction to the AMA was “…but he’s lying! How did he think that would end?!”
I’ve done a GDPR information request for all data related to me. It can take a while. Once I have it, I will go through it as best I can. Most likely, I’ll then file a GDPR right-to-be-forgotten request.
If you delete your account, they can still retain all the data, they just take away your ability to modify it. With a right-to-be-forgotten request, either they yeet all your data (should be the same as the information request returned), or they are in violation of law.
Sure, reddit doesn’t operate from within the EU, but I bet they’d still like to do business in the EUR zone.
Trolling is a art.
