I don’t really remember what the names of Google apps are anymore. I just know there’s an app I can use to tap to pay, and I have a custom icon for that app (since all of Googles app icons are so similar it’s confusing).
Once they deprecate one app and move to the next, I’ll just change the icon on that.
This is a feature, not a bug. It’s designed to wean you off using twitter.
Spamming user+1@gmail, user+2@gmail takes absolutely no technical knowledge whatsoever - anyone can do it with 1 gmail account.
Spamming user1@domain, user2@domain etc requires 1 of two things:
you can sign up for multiple email accounts using a third party service. You’re going to run into trouble with Gmail or other big providers if you start creating accounts en masse.
you create your own email server. this requires someone with selfhosting knowledge and some basic coding (or rather server config) experience.
that’s to stop people from spamming signatures with user+1@gmail, user+2@gmail, user+3@gmail, etc.
if that happens occasionally, it’s fine. I’ve seen apps which update every other week and do this bullshit.
That’s still (slightly) better than apps which force close when they’re not updated, and don’t allow you to do anything at all.
I’ve never had an issue with any of the changes Facebook has made over the past 5 years.
That’s because I haven’t used facebook at all.
Why would anyone care what Russians use?
Just use the right ublock filter to get past these silly anti adblocks
many sites have anti-adblock but most adblockers now have anti-anti-adblock in place.
Downvote for providing critical thought and checking the source? Lol this is a reflection of how biased this community is
That’s just plain wrong. The veto was a feature in the League of Nations (the predecessor of the UN). When the UN was formed, the permanent members (US, Soviet Union, United Kingdom, and China) all wanted this feature, ostensibly for unity and have all the major powers act together, but most likely to protect their own national interests.
China and Russia have used the veto to act against US interests as well.
Your problem is posting memes lol, maybe try posting in other communities
My desktop functions as a local file server and plex server.
If I bought a laptop and a bunch of hdds, it would cost maybe $500 more, and the hdds would be useless without a laptop plugged in.
A laptop is portable and that’s great, but it isnt always better.
Yes my desktop functions as a NAS - It takes maybe $100 more to get from a synology NAS to a working desktop-cum-NAS-cum-plex-server which I have.
On the other hand, it takes $500+ more to buy a laptop to plug in to a nas.
My point is, a laptop isnt always better.
The nature of a site like reddit (and lemmy and all other alternatives) means a large userbase is necessary. Not at the expense of CSAM, but also everyone trying to gatekeep lemmy doesn’t realise that we’ll die a slow death unless the fediverse grows by at least 10-20x.
I’ll switch when they make a laptop with 30+TB storage like my desktop has lol
As someone who just wandered into this thread - yes, you are by far the most insufferable poster on this thread so far. Worse than many other vegetarians in fact.
I mean IBM is still traded but it’s a shadow if it’s former self
