Thi budget has the word “Biiden” in it more times than it does budget. I also includes the words “woke ideology”. Definitely a very serious attempt to look at our spending and not just political bullshit.

My anti abortion friends will say “the problem is they don’t care about the children after they’re born” and then happily go vote for trump again this Nov because their church told them joe Biden is the devil.
You don’t want to invest in stopping fraud here. The investment costs more than you’d get back, no one is making bank stealing free school lunch. We conceded this before and made life worse for millions of people.
You do want to invest in stopping corporate fraud, because the investments pay off there.
Fun fact, some places do force inmates to pay for their own incarceration and will hand you a bill when you leave https://www.npr.org/2022/03/04/1084452251/the-vast-majority-of-states-allow-people-to-be-charged-for-time-behind-bars
Firefox shipped sandboxing on Android years ago (before chrome) and then removed it. I’m not sure you gain much from it on Android. It eats up ram making performance crap on cheap phones and apps already run in their own app user context to isolate what they can access.
I will never understand how people expect software to gather no telemetry or metrics whatsoever.
There is no revelation though. It doesn’t even make sense. Why would the republican controlled house be sitting on information like this?
Taibbii is a hack. Read his Wikipedia page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Taibbi. It’s full of “things” he did as a journalist, none of which is investigating or doing any journalism.
Signing doesn’t provide security of privacy protections. It just means you paid apple a fee.
Google and apple both allow pwas right now though, don’t they? I don’t think it’s a threat. It’s just apple trying to say fu to the eu. The eu will slp a billion dollar fine on them. They’ll pay it.
They’re actually secure too. It’s always interesting to me how iphone owners are so concerned about security and privacy, right up until Apple tells them not to.
It’s weird the us but wouldn’t even mention human rights abuses perpetrated around the world.
Many people in abusive relationships don’t “fight back” because they’re emotionally abused as well, which seems likely relevant to someone searching for “x is yelling at me” (whatever the sex race or age).
Reading this new CEOs job history on linkedin is kinda infuriating. She goes from intern to head of consumer products at Skype in less than a year. Just… Frustrating to read that while I am and manage really good people who struggle for decades in the trenches to get even paltry job opportunities.
But she got her MBA from Stanford so nepotism ahoy I guess.
because it probably can’t get less bulky and look less dorky,
Airpods are probably one of the ugliest pieces of tech ove seen in the last decade and yet somehow it doesn’t seem to matter. Never overestimate apple’s customer base.
I’m surprised to hear /home is non standard.
I think they probably learned this number from the iOS tracking opt in. It’s not as large as people like to think. People don’t like being tracked, but they’ll trade it for free stuff pretty easily.
You can download windows (direct from Ms) for free now. Does that make it better?
It’s nuts to me that teens use iMessage and not something secure they can hide from their parents.
I’ve always found the Tpm complaints a little suspicious. The same people who go on and on about how much they worry about security and privacy and how MS doesn’t care, suddenly just don’t give a shit in these cases. I assume they mostly just want to shit on stuff.
It’s a good to push to make it standard and hardware manufacturers wont without a good old shove.
The line “Prohibiting trust fund assets from being used for non-trust fund programs” just cracks me up. “People should be able to spend money how they want! Except like that or on things I don’t like”.
