FFA just means “free for all” (it’s a term from competitive games, in case you shouldn’t know), in this context I used it as another word for ‘legal’.
I know this is pretty radical, but if we made smoking FFA way fewer people should theoretically start smoking in the first place. From my experience when I was still at school most of the people there were only smoking because it’s “cool”, making smoking legal for everyone should take the coolness factor away at least.
Shit you’re right, I got mine, fuck them.
I’m using Liftoff as well right now I wanted to take a look at Eternity a while ago but it just never came to that for some reason. Probably cause my main is kbin idk. Might as well just try it now that I’m reminded by the poll, I guess.
Edit: Well, Eternity doesn’t seem to handle logging in from lemmy.blahaj.zone yet. Or something else’s wrong with my credentials idk.
Idc about anything right now I’m hungry af and the only thing I was able to read was crackers fml
Me neither, the only nagging notifications I get are from Malwarebytes which I should uninstall soon anyways. Am from Germany though so that’s that.
Yup, can understand if your library is small, but for bigger libraries that’s definitely the most inconvenient thing you can do.
Speaking from experience because I was basically forced to do it that way when I didn’t have regular internet access yet. My library was longer than 50 days. Just Hip-Hop alone was above 100GB.
I used to find a shitton of music that way, but the inconvenience was real. Worst was music that I had to tag myself for example. Love mp3tag but that’s shit.
Problem for me is def going to be modding games, have they fixed alt tabbing between games and desktop yet at least? It used to “crash” the game for me if I tabbed out even for a second.
The crazy part about it is, that even if every instance blocked everyone, you could always host your own instance and I think if you host one just for yourself and maybe a few friends or something it probably wouldn’t even cost a cent.
Lemmy.world is the biggest lemmy instance, it makes sense that they attract everyone even those type of people. They don’t understand the concept of distribution, of course they’re gonna go where the number is largest. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s the admins fault for the people that went there.

Difference 2 is it’s not really powermodding. At least not from the way I personally understand powermodding. Imo powermodding is when a mod decides to get rid of content they personally just don’t like.
In this case they got rid of a big risk to the instance itself, because, if someone decided to upload pirated content on here it would get federated to all instances that haven’t blocked the one initially distributing such content. Like another user said on this topic, this could be compared to torrenting, only without the direct P2P distribution. The risk of course falls on the people hosting the instances.
Since they host these instances pretty much for free aside of donations, that are not a requirement, and the fact that, like nanometer said, you can just choose not to be part of the instance (and register to another instance), I wouldn’t put blame on the admins of lemmy.world in this case.
Quite honestly I miss the 0 engagement you get on Reddit way less than automod
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
This is the best comparison I have ever read my eyes just peaked reading that thank you very much!
Winget exists fortunately (should come preinstalled with Windows by now; otherwise update App Installer in MS-Store)
winget install DolphinEmulator.Dolphin / winget upgrade DolphinEmulator.Dolphin then should do the trick
Dolphin is open source, add a better updater.
I was only saying my opinion and in my opinion people are making way too much of a fuss about this, as if the world ended. This outcome should seriously have been expected in my opinion.
Anywas we’re not missing out on anything, if it doesn’t go on Steam, except of course slightly more comfort and functions that can be fulfilled by other programs as well.
Adding it to Steam would do shit anyways. It would just add another layer between the user and the program.
The only positive would have been that saves could have been synced but there’s other (cloud) platforms that let you do that as well.
