It’s a bit more consumer focused, easier for Grandma kind of thing. Syncthing isn’t hard, but does have in my opinion a bit more difficult of an initial setup with features like introducers that can make things difficult if configured wrong.

If you have internet over Ethernet you likely already have wifi. This post is complaining about the cost of tethering to cellular data plans where presumably no alternative Internet sources exist. Most people don’t use wifi hotspots from their phone because they don’t have a Wi-Fi router, they use the hotspot from their phone because they don’t have other internet connections.
What does this have to do with phone-based hotspots costing money unnecessarily?
I’d go watch the movie, but my partner says that I’m too sick and clumsy to get out of bed right now. I don’t know where I’d be if they weren’t around to keep me straight, always reminding me of things I’ve said and done when I have moments of brain fog.
